personal experience.
Tried applying for a mortgage dec 09, a day before completion they withdrew the offer because I lived at too many addresses whilst at univeristy. Couldn't they have just said this at the offset? Still annoyed - so much time wasted.Credit Card Debts: £11,605.95/£16,240.53 - 71% paid off.
£4,634.61 credit card debt remaining. Aim for credit card debt free before [STRIKE]October 2011[/STRIKE] December 2012. In debt since 2004.0 -
Fair point, I can see why you would be annoyed.

Sorry to hear that LisaB1970! Did they give you any reasons why? Could it be because of the 17K of credit you have? I'm just going to keep everything I can crossed and hope that mine comes back, as an accept.0

direct. for some reason I have never belived in going through a broker, I guess I like getting involved and searching for deals.
I am waiting for a mortgage to go through with Northern Rock at the moment - again direct. Spoke to lawyers today, they were happy with the tenancy agreement - had to chase as I originally sent the agreement two weeks ago but said they hadn't received it - so they will confirm with northern rock if they are happy to go ahead with the remortgage. Lawyers will then call me to advise on a completion date next week. fingers crossed.

I spoke to Santander yesterday and apparently they have received all the paperwork and it has now been formally approved. (I assume this means it's been through underwriting?!) They are sorting a survey out for next week. So far, so good.....0

Thats brilliant news! I've done a bit of digging this morning and found out it was refused on affordability. I dont know why because we are well within their criteria. I think my MA may have cocked up somewhere but cant get hold of him until monday!
Hope all goes well for you0 -

Have you tried the Abbey affordability calculator?
Your broker should have done this really. Have a look and see how far out you are.
