Abbey have just wasted 3 weeks of my time, AIP with no problems at all, then from date of full application they came back to me on different days asking for different information - only to decline me after 3 weeks as I was £27 short on income!!!

Now I am at the begining of a process with Halifax!

    Good luck x

We have just submitted our full application to Santander, but reading this thread is making us think we might have made the wrong choice!

We did come back with a fast track option when we did the AIP, so maybe that will count for something?

The original thread was started in 2010.

So don't read too much into it.

Ours is with Santander too. My MA told me they have a slight backlog but are managing a turnaround of appx 48 hours on decisions. We should get our decision tomorrow. Hang in there folks and try not to read too much into things. Each case is different, but its VERY stressful!

I had a case with Abbey offered last week 4 days after application.

Good luck LisaB1970, but I'm sure you will be fine! It's just waiting and not knowing that I don't like! I like how the AIP was instant.

Good luck, everyone! I am hoping to get a call from Santander today confirming whether they have everything they need and the next step :). I did the application over the phone last Tuesday, which took 1hr 15mins and all OK (I assume this is the AIP). He asked me to send in bank statements and payslips, but not P60s.

    Based on what?

Free valuations, free legals/£250 cashback towards. Decent rates.

I have 2 completed today with Abbey, 1 offered 4 days after application, 1 8 days after.

Abbey get a totally unfair press in my opinion. Yes they can be slow and picky but if you keep on top of them and provide what they are asking for then they are great.
