To anyone who used a broker - how long from applying for the mortgage, sending proof of income etc was it before you heard anything after that? Abbey agreed in principle and broker sent off all info last Thursday, so 6 working days have passed so far. Not a peep since then.
Just had a call from the EA to say someone in the chain wants to exchange by end of May, complete by mid June.
Any ideas guys?0 -
I applied on the 18th March, got my DIP the same day,
The first 11 days I heard nothing,
then the next week they asked for another copy of my payslip as they couldnt read the original,
then the following week they asked fot anothery copy of my GF's payslip as they couldnt read it,
then the following week heard nothing
Until last week when they booked my valuation in for monday just gone,
Chased them today and the offer has been accepted and is in a que for being typed up so should have a letter by wednesday.
so all in all its been 6weeks!0 -
I went from application to agreement in principle in about 4 days and had a valuation on a house within two weeks from the application.
The offer was made in under 3 weeks.
I had no hassle from Abbey at all and it we completed last week.
I think it is just swings and roundabouts some people get fast approvals but others don't.0 -
Who removed the contact details???????????
If you have been successful can you state whether it was through a broker or not?0 -
So, three weeks after the application went in (through a broker) I was told today that it has now moved onto the valuation stage (thank goodness)...fingers crossed...0

Hi guys,
Have exchanged contracts today which is nice!
My time-line is:
19th March - Mortgage application
14th April - Mortgage offer made (received a couple of days later)
30th April - Exchanged contracts
25th May - Completion
I went via a broker in Wokingham - http://www.flowerifa.co.uk0 -

OK bit of an update - broker phoned me up today to say will lend me the money BUT require an extra £20,500 added to the deposit
Luckily, me being me had over-budgeted for everything so can just about afford to add this on. I suppose in the long run its a heck of a lot saved on interest etc but that is a different story.
Anyway - broker has spoken to them and providing this is done Abbey have said the valuation should be carried out within 48 hours and he seems to think the offer will arrive by around next Friday (14/05) if all is correct.
So in theory, from application to offer is looking like 16 working days all in all.
Fingers crossed!0
