This is the information provided by the APACS Sort Code Checker.

    Type the sort code below:
    09 01 27

. Faster Payments can be sent to this sort code.
. Bacs Credit payments can be sent to this sort code.
. Bacs Direct Debits can be set up on this sort code.
. CHAPS Payments can be sentto this sort code.
    .
    Eligible for Cheques Credit Clearing.

Yep, seems spot on from where I am. Santander (Abbey) are not doing faster payments out but are doing it inbound. My work expenses go to an Abbey account same sort code v Faster Payments.
  • Can someone help me please im distressed ,

Ive been accepted for a payday loan (yes i know but this is seriously emergency) so im more than happy to pay it back and some , but my problem is this

I got accepted and the email confimed that payment would leave the companys account on thursday this was thursday morning at 11am and it asked for me to allow up to 48 hours for the payment to clear.

Its not in my account yet and ive confirmed that my bank sort code does accept faster payments service etc so does it go quicker than a normal bacs payment and will it reach my account tomarrow ? im with Santander

    HELP !
  • I have 2 standing orders leave my santander current account that are listed as being sent by faster payment to my HSBC account. They were sent today and received today. I have other standing orders set up that have left today but not by faster payment and have not yet arrived even though it is also going to HSBC.

I can receive faster payments into my santander savings from HSBC and RBOS but can only move money instantly between my santander accounts so seems that you can only do 2 faster payments on the same day from Santander.

I also can only do 2 faster payments from HSBC per day.

It's all quite confusing. Would be nice for it to work from all accounts in both directions !!
  • Well according to this site: http://www.ukpayments.org.uk/faster_payments_service/value_limits/ Santander does offer Faster Payments service but only via Telephone, so I tried phoning, got through so some Indian callcentre, tried to make a payment via Faster Paymets and was told I would be charged £25 for the service!

He probably thought you meant CHAPS which is another same day transfer system which normally costs about £25.

From recent experience, Santander (and A&L) accounts can both now make multiple payments upto £250 a time - the most I've sent this way is £500 at once but there appears to be no restriction on numbers of payments anymore.

Is this via telephone banking only?

With all of these problems associated with Santander on this thread and all of the other threads why do people still stay with them ?

I've been with HSBC forever and I never have any problems with them.

Yesterday evening I did FP from my Lloyd TSB A/C to my Santander PICR a/c in sum of £300.00 it arrived within minutes to my Santander A/C

Try again keep in main the limit for FP is £300 for Santander and £250 for A&L.

Also FP transfer not the same with instant SO.

    Try again within the limits.
