i like meat too! had some lovely lamb shanks with beans for sunday dinner. Lots of beans left over so might be having a variation on the Nigella white bean mash that bb loves so much. Or maybe some soup out of them, not sure yet. Probably shouldn't mention the dessert, but it did have 3 types of actual fruit on it! Glad to hear you all seemed to have nice weekends, although still going ick at the needle thing. Vix when do you move into the new place? And how do you have enough clothes? I run out after a week!

I have a wardrobe, a rail of clothes and clothes that wont fit into that at the moment. I also have a large chest of drawers for knickers, bras, socks and sleepwear. I think i counted 87 pairs of knickers that matts mum had washed. Bras take up one draw of their own. The trouble with my system of never washing, keep buying means you end up with alot, and when someone washes it all for you it ends up a tad embarassing!

    Yes correct!!

Victory: Love how you'll spend £11 on flowers that will die (ok the strawberries i can kinda jusitfy) but you wont apy £5 for a skirt!!! haha that did make me laugh. Id rather give my clothes to charity than see them go to someone for a quid. Especially if i bought it for £25 and then never wore it!

Scary: House move has gone fine, im not sure if im enjoying or pretending its all going ok!

Fellpony - great news you must be so relieved, I would treat yourself to a glass ;) How is that finger doing now?

Thanks Alliwant, the whole family is greatly relieved, :D it's especially hard when DD is only 4 (and a half, must not forget the half!! :rotfl:) she's doing great though, the last 6 months have been hell but she has got through everything with a smile and a laugh even when she feels poorly.

The finger is doing grand, stitches were meant to be removed today but have to admit (look away now if you are squeamish) I took them out myself on Tuesday!! (oops!!) The antibiotics are now finished so might actually start feeling like eating again :T...... hmmm which thread am I writing on ;)..... ahhh yes, so will have to try and keep the food to the right ones (for a change!)

Hope all is going well and motivation has been found for those who have lost it!! (I find a picture of the old (sorry, young) slimmer me helps, although I have never been slim and willowy like some of the people I see around and about!! Always been built like a brick !!!! house unfortunatley :rotfl::rotfl:

any tips to shove me back on to the wagon??

dont starve yourself, you will just break your will power and give in ..

its important to kick the addictive foods and focus your will power on not eating them for a week or two, after that time the addictive cycle will be broken and life will become very much easier, high fat foods, refined sugary foods, chocolate, cheese and if you can caffeine.

try to eat 5 - 6 meals a day every 3 hours, this helps with hunger and keeps your metabolism running flat out, eat the same number of cals as you would just split them up over the day

lean protein is an appetite suppressant so if your having a salad say have some lean chicken or tinned tuna with it

surprisingly there is some take away food that you can eat, plain rice from an Indian / Chinese is fine, chicken kebabs (breast pieces griddled) with salad are fine, steamed chicken in a Chinese and tandoori meats (in no sauce) in an Indian are also fine

i keep telling my wife to stop buying cheese but she insists turkish cheese isnt as calorie laden as the English stuff-the dietian told me to have a good helping in the morning--i find it sets my energy levels up for a good day a decent breakfast--she also told me to have 6 small slices of wholemeal low salt bread in a day --i was happy with 2 to 4 slices!-seems i am eating more on this diet than i use to!!-i have have just cut out coffee/down on bread and do more exercise!
İts a public holiday here but i am hoping the gym is open-otherwise its the wall at the tennis courts!-happy St Georges day everyone!
    mfw'11 No68- 55k mortgage İO--little to nothing saved! i must do better.

Victory - . My Radishes have started sprouting and tomatoes are doing well tool. Hope your having lots of success too

I have got on the windowsill rocket and lettuce is propagating, once sprouted goes in the garden, the yellow peppers look very healthy and sprouting well as the strawberries so it is all looking good, I am having such a time with unravelling the hose and putting it back with the arthritis it is very painful so was looking on amazon to treat myself to an auto reel hose that goes on the wall pull out and it goes back itself a bit of unnecesary luxury but if it makes life easier so be it:D

beanilou in the 70% is absolutely fantastic:D

fell sigh of relief for you all:D

kat you are not a failure you are human and it is a struggle sometimes, the struggle makes the good days even more of a pleasure;)

vix Not flowers, herbs, the curry plant, lemon thyme and french lavender will stay there year on year, the strawberries is a one year thing but they were 99p a plant and I bought 2, the yellow peppers true will die this year but will get peppers and pleasure from them and the hanging basket flowers yes will die, still would rather have that pleasure of looking out into the garden and seeing the herbs and plants growing and making the garden look pretty than spend £5 on a skirt that has seen better days and can buy in primark for the new price of less than that probably:D car boot sales are about bargains, sure you don't get as many as there used to be, but in the morning they up the prices and then when they realise no one will touch them at that price they lower it realising they are being unrealistic and greedy, if you want to sell at the boot fair the prices have to stay low:D

de!amo is the public holiday for st george's day? ho cool is that?

hugs to fellpony and hezza, tough times but light at the end of hte tunnel. And yay BB, now i can say that I know an artist!

thanks peppop for feeding my fetishes. i love giles because he's a foodie, interested in history and a complete grammar nazi. OH is in love wth Gile's sister Victoria so the Corens are on the free list.

Been doing upwards of an hours walk the past few nights, learning all about the area where I live. I'm surprised at how pretty it is! Just need to stop the stupid eating and I'm there. It's scary how easily i can do it. A pack of 5 giant in store bakery cookies were polished off in less than 10 mins last week. Whilst I drove home from the supermarket How is that even possible?

--how do you go about raising your metabolism--

My Sports Nutrition book recommends the following:

    - Exercise
    - Add muscle
    - Eat small meals often through the day
    - Get enough protein
    - Eat a good breakfast
    - Go for a walk after a meal
    - Check portion sizes

Sticking to these guidelines as much as poss did wonders for me when I was trying to raise mine :)
