Eric - don't beat yourself up about 2 weeks of small losses. they are still losses. It's only 2 weeks after all and who knows what might be causing it?
It might be that it's all going to suddenly drop off in a few weeks time.
Or that amount of excercise could be causing your muscles to increase in mass (and weight)!
Just because the maths makes sense doesn't mean your body, muscles, hormones etc will pay attention.
So long as you stay on track things will pick up. And don't stress out about it as the stressful feelings coupled with all that exercise might have made your body panic and hold on to what it's got for a couple of weeks.

im only doing cardio so there's no muscle building going on, it could be some inflammation in the tissue coming from two months with no training but still we are talking 7 ltrs of fluid

cardio still builds muscle - especially in your legs if you are running. Don't rule it out just because you haven't been lifing weights. I only ever do cardio and it only takes a few sessions for me to notice that my arms and legs are more muscly.

seriously, my calf's which have about 6mm on a skinfold caliper are 22" ... my thighs are twice that under whats left of the blubber .....

well ill just hope its inflammation from restarting exercise, we shall see if it works itself out over the next couple of weeks

    Hi

Had a bit of a false start when I originally joined this thread.

More motivated now, have bought an exercise bike and go to collect it tonight (won for 99p on eBay lol!!!)

Been stocking up on fresh fruit, veg, low fat foods.

I don't have an ideal weight in mind, I guess once I feel comfortable and look good that's my goal reached. But to give me something to aim for, I want to get from a size 16 down to nearer a size 12. My weight gain has been gradual. Lack of discipline combined with lack of exercise. I went to the gym once in a blue moon and after considering a membership, I decided it was gonna be more convenient to get equipment to use at home.

There's more chance of me jumping on an exercise bike for an hour or so in the evening than going to the gym (alone!)

So I'll be weighing in with the rest of you, hopefully we can all reach our goals!

Thanks Betty! Yeah, 99p, decided to give the guy at least a fiver as I was prepared to pay up to £25 for a second hand exercise bike.

Is it Wednesday we weigh in?

What should I do for the first week, just state my weight that day?

Then report any losses the next week?

Like your attitude foxglove:T And welcome to the forum. Yes weigh in is wednesday: don't need to tell us your starting weight: just ask to be added to the chart and then your 1t weigh in on the following wed.

Great to hear you enthusiasitc Betty.

Eric - planning on digitas is fine, but a stroke may leave you unable to commnicate or travel independently which will screw up those
    plans.

Beanie - glad you explain the discount thing as I didn't get it either, lol - I was thinking, do debenhams have a travel dept:rotfl:

All I want - so glad you had a restorative time. Sometimes feeling low for a few days is just part and parcel of our humanity. I tend to try and ignore those feelings now, know that in a few days I will feel ok again.

Victory: carb free sounded a nightmare day for you xx. Good on you on deciding to leave the job, but when it suits.

There are actually qute a few sports the UK excellent in/best in the world, just not the ones the masses follow: sailing for one, and rowing. And we have a number of world class cyclists. And there are loads more.
I'm a tour de france fan myelf and will be glued to the box for 3 weeks (evenings) from this friday: utter bliss. And we have every reason to hope for some stage wins in that. There are more prizes and kudos and than just the one over all winner. Mind you, it's not just about the uk cyclists - watching the passion and brilliants of so many of the riders whatever the nationality is great. But is is extra special when a Brit wins.

Can't believe it is 20 yrs since I was sobbing into my cocoa (really)over gazza being booked and losing to the Germans on penalties:eek:.

Enjoying lots of sals. Got 7 avocados for £1 so lots of them in salads .... at least its good fats:o
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

Yep weigh in on weds. If you know how much you weighed last week then you can post a loss or a gain or a STS (stayed the same) in big bold letters so Fred can see it. Otherwise just ask Fred to add you to the chart and check your weight on weds (you dont have to tell us) and then report your progress next week.

...Ahh BB beat me to it :)
