COME ON ENGLAND
COME ON ENGLAND
2-1 WE RECKON IN THIS HOUSE,everything is ready for the BBQ we are having, all good, the sun is too much so we have not been in the garden, madness eh?:D
We're having a bbq too - victory what are your failsafe BBQ options that stop you from ruining your diet??Betty B: The Eternal Procrastinator....
Why Put Off Until Tomorrow What You Can Do Today? :A0 -
Salad, coleslaw, proper expensive as it were burgers so they are not dripping in fat and the BBQ goes all greasy and smoky, roasted red peppers stuffed with tomatoes, garlic, basil and a drizzle of oil, no cheese in it, bruschetta which is ciabbata bread with garlic, tomatoes, basil ,salt and pepper a drizzle of oil , like bread topping yum, chicken skewers with lean chicken, cherry toms, pieces of pineapple and pieces of peppers.
Extra lean sausages, we normally have the little ones rather than the chunky fat ones, all the sauces light kraft like honey and mustard or extra light mayonnaise, the dips are hummus reduced fat or home made salsa dips fatless.
Aubergine, artichoke, courgette salad, cook on griddle in thin strips the veg, serve with rocket salad which I am growing, salt pepper and drizzle of oil if prefered.
Desert is fromage frais with BBQ in their skins bananas so they go black on the outside but gooey and lovely and hot in the inside, no need to !!!!!, or sugar free pops or fruit salad in juice with greek fat yog, or melon .
Invariably the kids love chargrilled tomatoes which are lovely get the beefeater ones, it is heavily sided to salads and veggies grilled, the meat is lean.0 -
Corn on the cob, crab sticks, they never reach the BBQ because youngest loves them and cherry tomatoes and they all get eaten before we get the food cooked:rotfl:
We often have fish in tin foil not today because we are having meat but OH loves the freshness of the fish done in tin foil-
4 pieces of fish any you like
2 shallots,sliced
1 garlic clove crushed
1tsp capers
6 sun dried toms
4 black olives
grated juice and rind of 1 lemon
1tsp paprika
salt and pepper
brush lightly the tin foil with olive oil, place fish in centre and season with salt and pepper, add all the other ingredients, seal, on BBQ for 10 mins or in oven gas mark 200 for 15-20 mins
We sometimes have lean tuna or swordfish or salad nicoise or fruit kebabs (bananas, kiwis, strawberries, pineapple, melons, pears, etc) or melon balls or orange segments and other fruit0 -
Wow Victory that all sounds so good, my lot here wouldn't appreciate anything like that but it makes my mouth water.
Still having to smile at vix, its the first time i've heard it called that0 -
Hi all
Haven't been around this week as we've moved to a mobile phone signal free zone, so my dongle doesn't work! Our mobiles don't work either, so we've had to drive several miles just to make phone calls.
OH and I are currently in a local hostelrie, watching the England match (him) and utilising their free wifi (me), so I've had a chance to catch up on the posts I've missed. Had to laugh at Vix's misunderstanding of Mrs Gene Hunt! :rotfl:I'm a bit of a fan of him and his car too.
Not sure when I'll be logging on again, so I probably won't be here on Wednesday to report in.
Hope to see you soon with some news!

Hi Lois
hope you are making plans that will make up for the recent hiatus.
It's deathly quiet round here: I have been heartlessly cleaning the kitchen: I know how the match is going by the cries of woe from 100 open windows down the street.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
PSML - That was the funniest match I have seen in years, reality finally bites after a year of playing 3rd world nations and declaring to the world that we are world beaters.
The Germans showed us what our team really comprises of, a bunch of overpaid prima donnas run by an English manager who can barely speak English.
I enjoyed that match :-)0 -

OMG!!!! that just got me big time :rotfl: I have tears in my eyes I was laughing so muchHello! I'm new to the thread :P.
How are you all doing?
Hello and welcome to lovely thread, Have you read the information on the 1st page that may help you make your choices, and help you reach your goal.
That is a big target you have set yourself and I wish you all the best in reaching itJust remember to join in and have a laugh along the way
I have just had a fantastic weekend I was at the Eden Project last night to see Jack Johnson and I have still not come down
What a great place to have a concert, and only 6000 people  It made a change to goto a concert and to be able to see the artist on the stage instead of on a huge screen next to it ISWIM....... Also not to have people barging into your personal space every 5 sec's it was bliss.
My wonderful OH has done a good job on the Van and we got there and back with only 1 tiny issue ..... He has managed to blow the fuse that illuminates the instrument panel so we were driving along last night not know what speed we were doing!! He called it driving by engine noise :rotfl: But new engine runs a lot smoother so in the long run I think we will be better off.
I also tried to buy some new shorter jeans today and it was totally ironic that the pair I liked were only in a Size 8 or my old size  But I tried some different ones on 4 sizes smaller than I used to wear and they fitted  but I didn't like the length of them so they went back on the shelf! But it felt real good for an hour to know that I had fitted in them
Victory - your BBQ sounds lovely when can I come round ?How did your carb free day go ?
