Oh Hezza - you certainly have your hands full and menopause symptoms disturbing your sleep can't be helping :-(

Hope today goes better for you - a high protein breakfast sounds like a solid foundation to help you stick to the diet today.

Morning all. Up at 6.30 this morning to check in with the election results and now awaiting arrival of new boiler which was due to be fitted from 9.am. They've just rung with a 'delay' til 10.30. Given the recent claim I made against them, they are pushing it a bit. I so hope they do turn up later; we've been hanging on for hot water for 4 weeks now.

pepop --was it you who was going to be coun ting the votes last night? I always fancied doing that, especially in a constituency without a safe majority. Hope you had a good night andmanaged to stick to the healty snacks you planned.

Thanks for the chart fred and well done eric and scotsman.

I can't remember who asked about how i make my own yoghurt with the easiyo: a couple of tblspoons of 'live yog (any natural yog with the 'live acidopholus stuff, which many brands have), 10 tsp dried milk powder and just under a ltr of UHT skimmedmilk. Placed in easiyo (with boiling water as per easiyo instructions) and leavefor 6-8 hrs (I tend to do it overnight).
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once

. Also it may be something to do with my job; its not working out like I hoped, the people are nice but I'm not making much progress and dont feel like I'm contributing much, so boredom may have had something to do with it too.

Stop and think how hard you fought to get the job, how brilliant you were at the interviews, they must have thought very highly of you to offer you the job as they spent a long time deliberating, they know your capabilities and have faith in them that is why you are where you are now:D Don't let it grind you down just yet, think of the positives that you have a job, you can make progress (talk to your bosses on how they think you can do that and come up with some plans together to work towards) you are contributing all that you know, all that you have.

Make positive and negative lists to the job, one you can see is the long hours, yes true but the long hours may move you up the ladder, to more money to more recognition, to being able to afford the luxuries in life;)

:mad::mad: sold peter kay tickets on ebay, should have known too good to be true, buyer is only on 1 count and keeps emailing me that he has no paypal or cheque book and can only pay by having my bank details:eek: as if I am going to give a stranger all my bank details when paypal is a perfectly acceptable payment but oh no he keeps on that he will pay that he could pay via postal order so I have opened a non paying bid against him, yes as quick as the 4th day because he is messing me about big time, got rid of them to fund the car troubles, we always do that, something has to go to afford something else and that was it but he cannot see he has bid, won, pay up NOW:D

Went to see Jim Davidson last week, he was really crude, rude and funny, we were in the front row so he spoke to me or rather used me to get a laugh a few times:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Ah victory - you always know the right thing to say dont you??!! (and thank you Pud as well) Yesterday was a bad day cos all the people I need to work with to make progress on my projects either weren't in or not returning my calls/emails etc so I felt like I'd got precisely no-where; I know that's a valid reason but it sounds so lame as an excuse when my boss asks me how I'm getting on; I feel like I should JFDI without them but I always try to collaborate with people along the way cos you never know when you might need their support later. I have a 1-2-1 with my boss next week so I'm gonna raise some of my issues then.

Well said Victory.(is your system grad returning to stability?)

Hezza - have you explored diet a tall via vis the change. Somepeople find soya stuff helps (that is very vague and probably ill informed but you could google.) I think I'll be trying a few things when the signs are there.

I am about to start some supplements for my TOTM systems - it wipes me out so much. And some glucoamine for my arthrits which is definitely gettinga bit worse. I cant lift my duvet off me in the morning, I have to slide out, my shoulders/wrists and elbows are too painful/weak first thing.
ANyone here any good experiences with glucosamine?

As for your job - I guess it is still early days, but you are conscientious and thorugh and hopefully you determination to engage with others will pay off in the lnger term.

Good news - the boiler people have arrived:j.

De1amo - good to hear you are eating a bit more now. 1000 cals sounded way too few. Hopefully you will continue to tweek your systema dn keep learing through the whole process thanks to the helpful adice pf people on here.

BB - I've done loads of research on diets for the menopause, there's almost too much written about it and its all contradictory, so I gave up. The symptoms aren't too bad at the mo, its been worse than this before, so I can live with it for now. I think my current diet of no processed foods etc (when I stick to it :o) might help since I dont feel nearly as bad as I did when I was a stone heavier than now. If I go to my GP she'll probably just put me on HRT which I want to avoid like the proverbial (too many side effects); I've gone off her since she suggested that my 14yo DD went on the pill to make her TOTM's settle down  (needless to say we ignored that advice)
