I stand by I NEVER planted them though must have been the previous owners, did plant some supposedly cascading tiny little purple plants and they immediately died which has left me with a big empty hole next to the tulips, going into town there is a bungalow with a higher wall than mine and the front and they look fantastic, tried to re-create but they died:D also school boy error, left the rocket on the windowsill and the lettuce in it's container to grow but never thought to water them:rotfl: dead:rotfl:

You did better than me, I bought a pot of growing lettuce - the kind that you can cut from as needed, was supposed to last at least 10 days, I did water it and it still died within a couple of days! I think it was too hot on my windowsill:(

i planted aubretia a couple of years ago having seen it cascading down a neighbours wall. It has stubbornly refused to spread, but it is still alive which is always a plus. I planted loads of daffs and tulips but they can't seem to stand up to the wind around here - the stems snap before they ever manage to flower.

i meant to weigh in this week so i had a starting point but i forgot! Will have to do it next week.

I made sweet and sour pork for tea last night and it was gorgeous. Always thought it would be difficult to make sweet and sour sauce but it was so easy anddelicious.

I have a load of daffodils that I planted in some tubs about 10 years ago and they've flowered maybe twice during that time. I've moved the tubs to a sunnier spot now so I'm hoping that will make the difference.

I'm having a bad day today food-wise, I'm cold and tired and that is affecting my appetite big time, feels like I'm eating for England. Toasted bagel & peanut butter for breakfast, fruit snacks mid morning, gammon & veg for lunch followed by syrup sponge and custard. :o Now if only I could just curl up in a corner and go to sleep ......

Could you share the recipe please Katie?

Thanks for all the news and chat today, an entertaining read :-)

Hezza I overeat when I'm cold. I generally get the shivers for a couple of days before TOTM is due for some reason - wonder if its a "girl" thing?

On a bad note though, i've had a bit of a blowout today. Hoping to claw it back over the next few days.

:j Well done to the slimmers of the week :j

I have had a strange kind of a day, everyone around me seems to be very grumpy (apart from DD and HWMDAT who are always far too cheerful)

I have resisted the urge to snack between meals today, usually a problem, especially when the grumpy people are around!! Today I removed myself from the situation, and took DD to help me vote :D.

I ticked the wrong box and and didn't get a postal vote , so 100 miles round trip in the car (we are still in temp accomodation :o) to get there and decide I have no idea who to vote for so let DD (who is 4 1/2) assist in the logic which is voting.

Fortunately I dont have TOTMs any more and am on the threshold of major 'change', have been on & off with symptoms for the last couple of years (mostly hot flashes & night sweats) and the last couple of weeks have been bad so that may have something to do with it. Plus I had a long day Wednesday (up at 5am, home at 7pm then out to pick up DD from swimming) so may have been 'hungover' from then. Feeling a bit better today but still headache-y; just had bacon & eggs for breakfast & dont have the urges to over eat like I did yesterday. Hopefully today will be a better day all round. Also it may be something to do with my job; its not working out like I hoped, the people are nice but I'm not making much progress and dont feel like I'm contributing much, so boredom may have had something to do with it too.
