Just off to bed after watching The Aviator with DH (had the DVD for ages, but never sat down and watched it!). I wanted to send Sandy a hug - sounds like your DH is doing what men do - retreat to cope with things and I'm sure he'll be much more supportive soon. As others have said, involve him with everything as I think that helps; my DH has got very involved with my medical stuff over the years. Sending positive vibes and a big squishy hug.

Rach Congratulations honey :T .....yes, I trawl the boards as well......but it's lovely to get the official announcement......take good care of yourself :A
Sexy You know I am with you.....hope you secured the help of the person you wanted to be there......tell it as it is......best of luck honey.....no need to be nervous, you are in the right herexx
Sandy When I initially got my Cancer diagnosis.....my OH went into the woe is me mode.....I had to tell him in very simple terms.....that I needed him to be strong for me, I could only "protect" him for so long, before it became too much effort.......men just don't seem to "get it"having said that my DS who is now 20 has been a huge support....one day at a time is really the way to go.
Good night everyone

I am sorry your family have let you down and we are only virtual friends but we all wish you the very best of goodd wishes for your day xxxxx
Toots - thanks for making me smile xxx
I've been overwhelmed by the number of birthday wishes here today - thank you all so much. I can't imagine a nicer and more warm-hearted group of people than you all. I started off the day feeling so low, but became stronger and stronger as more and more of you sent such kind thoughts. In the end I baked that cake and stuck a candle on it (yes, just one, but it was gold and large!); DH turned up with a huge bunch of white freesia which smell gorgeous; and we went out to the concert and had a fantastic time. He's had to go off now - working away from home tomorrow and needed to set off tonight - but I shall go to bed happy, which is not how I imagined things would turn out at all... Thank you all xxxxxx.Happy Birthday Miss H :bdaycake:- I have a feeling that the one you're having is the same one I'm havinf later this year and TBH I'm not thrilled - I still don''t feel grown up, really - how can I be hitting a half C?
(apologogies iof I'm wrong and you're a spring chicken really)Valli I'll hit the jolly old Half C next month, and frankly I'm dreading it. I had just two b'day cards last year, and one of those was from Mr LW.:( but tbh I just feel like kicking it under the carpet and forgetting it.
Ah, my dear friends - yes the jolly old Half C it was. How is it possible? I know for *certain* that I am only 32. :rotfl: At least I'm in good company, though. xxx
Haven't managed to keep a list as I read through - but Rach needs some mega congratulations :T:T:T
...and Sandy another huge hug. I'm so sorry about your DH's reaction, but I'm thinking that he is just very, very scared and confused. Like the others have said earlier, I think he will need time to sort things out in his own head before he can start to be brave and help you. Men , eh.
Meanwhile come and talk to us on here whenever you need to. xxxx
Must go to bed now - it's no longer my birthday officially, so it looks like I must be heading on 51...

Morning lovely flyladies,Onestep and EclecticMermaid!

) over on the boards but it is lovely that it's 'official' now. So so happy for you honey.

Sexymouse - Good luck vibes for this morning.
3tabbycats - Our bathroom was ripped out to have a disabled shower etc put in with slip proof flooring (possibly the coldest and hardest to keep clean flooring that exists!) and we were without a bathroom for over a month and it was horrible, so I can sympathize.
Wilf - you must be so proud! I remember seeing the news interview and what a proud mum you were.
Natty - Treacle Pudding the cat is about 16 now and she moults endlessly so when she is up on the bed or desk having some cat treats, I give her a quick brush. She hates it but the treats distract her. So yes, at least once a day she gets a brush and the only reason it is on my Dailies list is that I feel a complete fraud being on here and not actually doing much so as that is one thing I can do, I list it. And yes I finally did my order - I have the sweet pea one but have to say my new faves are the Lemon lavender (which even my OH likes) and the Vanilla Lime. Absolutely delicious clean scents. With love, light and hugsDiva.x
