    Rach Many congratulations.

Valli I'll hit the jolly old Half C next month, and frankly I'm dreading it. I had just two b'day cards last year, and one of those was from Mr LW.:( but tbh I just feel like kicking it under the carpet and forgetting it.

Congratulations Rach - I was wondering how you got on today!

    Happy Birthday Miss H

Sandy - huge hugs for you. Please can I second the need to tell your DH today though. I would be really, really hurt if my DH didnt tell me regardless of his reasons why not. Mine doesnt know that he talks in his sleep so I know everything :p!

I have been to work, and then out for early dinner for SS1's 18th so not a huge amount done yet. Littles are just off to bed then I need to sort stuff for the morning. I need to use the ironing press after a number of drinks again.......

Yes.. when they have exceeded KH status they become FW.. lol

Chickenpox is worse in adults anyway, my uncle ended up very very ill but it was nothing to do with being pregnant it was due to him being 43!! but if they have already been exposed to her what is the point avoiding them when it is so much less contagious than it was before?Very few people get it as adults anyway as most people are sensible enough to inflict it on their parents as children..

It is hysteria around such childhood illnesses that mean adults have not been exposed to it as children and are susceptible as adults and putting their unborn children at risk if caught in the last trimester. I was greedy I had it twice. All my children had it before they were 7.. 3 were under a year old.. 1 got it from school, 1 got it from nursery, 1 got it from my sisters the other 5 got it from siblings.

The only illnesses mentioned in our school policies are D&V.. but they are usually taken ill at school anyway so anyone who is going to get it is already exposed.. it is just too messy to keep them at school :p

    Each to their own!

Well, I had been round spotty poxy children throughout my life, even DD1 had chickenpox and I just never caught it until I was pregnant with DD2 - and definitely from the school. Believe me, there was no over protective parenting going on at my house... :)

I didn't know there was a vaccine - that would have been useful. :D

the vaccine is routinely given in America nd they are after it being included in the baby vax here.. or at least before they are 2.. but it is usually only offered to people who might be working with immuo suppressed people or if they have asked about it it is occasionally offered.. like for my sis.. had she not had CP when she was 5 working as a nursery nurse she is likely to come into contact and if pregnant it could harm the baby.. so vaccinate early on..

Being pregnant lowers the effectiveness of the immune system anyway to stop you rejecting the baby.

Many congratulations Rach :T:T - take it easy now won't you. I hope you enjoy the take away (and it stays put!) Is this your first?

Just need to iron (will only take 10 mins) and then I'll have done everything on my list so really pleased. DH and I not great; I've been a baggage and he's still not well so lethal combo really :( . Just given DS a bath and he was so cute and lovely; DD had piano lessons and she's definitely improving (I can't play for toffee!)
