Advise the 3rd party not to do it unless there is a major need.

I know 3 people that have fitted these, the rise and sink type. It's cost all 3 of them far more than they expected,.............All have reversed into their own bollards  :T:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::o
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed

This doesn't absolve the property owner's duty of care to anyone entering their property.

But you don't have to provide them with vehicular access ;)

Why the problem with people turning in drives? It's hardly worth worrying about is it?

I can just imagine your typical Sunday afternoon...............getting all of a lather because an unknown driver had the temerity to place some rubber on your drive for all of 5seconds and all he wanted to do was go in the opposite direction...........surprised you haven't got your shotgun out yet......that will teach the *!*"!**.

    Get a life!!

Maybe if your garden wall got knocked down, or your kiddy was riding his/her bike there you would think differently ??

By the very nature that they know they are doing wrong, they will drive in and out as fast as possible, not good.

Read the original post, as it is not people using it to manoeuvre but they are parking on someones private property. I would be pi55ed off if I came home and could not park on my drive as someone had parked there or blocked the entrance.

Just put a sign up in a prominent position that adheres to the correct rules and regulations regarding wording, font and font size that advises anyone that entering the grounds of this property is at your own risk and if death happens then you will be charged an admin fee ;p

Full marks on your reading and comprehension.........for which I also scored 10/10.:T

I wasn't aware that posting replies was restricted to comments on the original post and I do seem to recall two replies that mentioned turning in drives.

I know this isn't what the thread is about but what's wrong with people turning in the end of a driveway? It used to drive my Dad beserk but I don't give a toss! My DD who is now 23 never once got run over and no walls ever got damaged either.

Whilst we're on the subject I agree that it's totally out of order to park in someone's driveway uninvited and I'd never dream of doing so. However, I have never had a problem with people parking in the street outside my house as long as they don't block the driveway. If I come home and can't park directly outside my front door I park slightly up the road or further down or opposite. Apart from a few extra steps it makes no difference to me. IME, people who jump up and down because someone's parked in "their space" will come and park outside my house without a second thought.

I don't think there is a legal requirement to paint or highlight the bollard.

Plenty of bollards I've seen on Council property abut a road or street without any special markings. They're just left standard unpainted grey or black.
