Yeah - I got some before I got married. Most of them are pretty and floral and stuff, some of them rather retro. I don't always remember to wear them, though.:beer:0

oops - jeez i must be an oldie in a young uns body then.
I'm only 22 and wear my apron when im cleaning all the time. but i wear one that ties round the waist and just covers my legs not my top and it has two big pockets on it - handy for picking up bits of Little ones toys or bfs bits and pieces. I also use it if im hanging out the washing and keep my pegs in the pocket.Time to find me again0 -
I think I may have to start as am such a messy worker and seam to end up with something on me every day
Whats the best sort?0 -
Hi blessings,
We have a long thread on wearing aprons that should help you, so I'll merge your thread with it as it helps to keep all the replies together. Hopefully you'll find some ideas of the best sort to get.

I always wear an apron, much more hygienic. Up until recently I had been wearing a typical pinafore apron (with a loop round the back of the neck, and ties at the back), but I always find the bib bit moves to one side (I have big boobs).
So, I decided to buy an old fashioned apron. Not a wrap over one (like Mrs Weasleys), but a proper pinafore one. I first bought one on Ebay, it was a perfect size and I really liked it. My husband didn't though, he started making comments about me needing to put curlers in my hair and a scarf on my head.
So I bought some black material and set about converting my plain black ordinary apron into a proper pinafore style, using the traditional one as a template. I'm useless at sewing, and didn't know what I was doing, so it took me ages. I did it though, and it was BRILLIANT. I'm now part way through the process of converting a second other apron so I have two.
And I'll be selling the one I bought on Ebay when I'm done.0 -
I've found I get through the housework much faster with my apron on.
I sewed it myself and made lots of pockets. When I'm tidying the hosue thingds that belong elsehwere/are homeless go in one pocket, rubbish in another. WHen I next am near a bin I empty the rubbish pocket, things are returned to their place from the other pocket when I pass thier homes.
In two of the other pockets I put clothes pegs when I hang the laundry out - no more bending down to get pegs from the bucket.
I yet another pocket I quite often have the cordless phone, another pocket has a pencil and small notepad for quick notes.
I bet you think I can hardly move when I've got it on!
But actually it works very well and I love wearing it! Even caught DH wearing it when he thought no one could see him!!
P.S Not MS at all but Laura Ashley have gorgeous aprons. Half price at the mo, but still around £9...but beautiful all the same"Finish each day And be done with it.
You have done what you could.
Some blunders and Absurdities have crept in.
Forget them as soon as you can."

I wear an apron when cooking (well, when I remember).
The pockets would be useful when cleaning but I don't wear one when I'm cleaning.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
I wear an apron when I cook and have lots! I even have the one my mum had to buy for me for school, and I still use it even though its a bit small now. ( I'm now 47!!! and about twice the size i was then, lol)
I dont wear an apron for cleaning now as I just wear any old clothes to do housework. I have a very stained polo shirt and jog pants or shorts that I wear.
I even do this on holiday on a campsite! gets some strange looks but really saves your clothes..
I too want one of those really old fashioned wrapover pinnys. Women 'up north' always wore them but you cant find them for love nor money these days - gosh I sound ancient.
If any northerners see than pm me please
