Spooky, I was just thinking about getting a pinnie as I always have bleach marks all along my t-shirts where I've rested against the worktop - and this thread surfaces.
Lidl sometimes do plain cloth ones and I was thinking of writing my own slogan on one - like "slovenly houswife" for instance.Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
i dont use one for cleaning but i do for cooking i was sent a free apron from baileys last year and i love it i had ones before that just on back of the door never used but this one was lighter and fitted nice so i always wear it while cooking.Still TryingGrocery challenge July 2016

I always use an apron for cooking/baking. I'm hoping that someone will buy me the nice green and blacks gift set in boots that has another one in so I can have a different one for sweet making
I'm such a messy cook that I'd end up covered if I didn't use one! Don't use one for cleaning though.... Proud DFW Nerd 135 :cool:Sealed Pot Challenge - 0190 -

hi... lisbonlaura.........
welcome to the os board... and thank you for reviving the thread on aprons.......
i love aprons....... as i think of them as fashion history...... which they are......
as for wearing them.......mmmmmm..... i must admit i dont allways ....and i do tend to get flour all over the front of me when i am making pastry dishes etc.....
i have a lovely green tartan cotton apron..... nothing fancy..... which i have had for years......that i use..
i do have quite a few vintage aprons..... but i will not wear them.... even though they have been worn in the past by their previous owners....
maybe i will treat myself to a new apron as a christmas pressie
to my self...:DWork to live= not live to work0 -
I always wear an apron - ruined to many clothes with bleach marks, etc.
As soon as I get home from walking the boys to school I pop on my apron.
In one pocket it has a small notebook and pen so that I can write down anything I need to get when shopping, or my "to do" list. In the other pocket I keep my mobile 'phone so that I don't miss hearing any calls or texts coming through.
When I am being VERY organised I will have a microfibre cloth looped under the tie belt! (it wraps round and I tie it at the front)
I have 4 aprons: 1 blue gingham, 1 blue spotty, 1 navy butchers style and 1 lilac one which has embroidered on the front "Mum's Kitchen - Great Food!"
I am working my way up to getting a "Perfect Housewife" one but I may be a while!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Thxs girls
I have fixed my previous post, so now you can see the pic........sorry about that.......& no one told me off:D
I have looked at that Apron Book before & went into 'I'm not paying that!' mode....but now I can get it for a fiver + p&p...... (y'know, that emoticon, is not really for girls..is it??).
I have just done an apron count..........OMG, 19!! & all full length, & I know there are more! ...... though not all fit me so easily these days but I am still 'attached' to them.
The sad part is that last month I modified my favourite wraparound, which i could no longer shrink on, into a a very long hostess style apron with cross-over straps. Took me a whole morning too. Crazy girl.
Do I need medication0
