It might be worth checking if there are combined rail and entry ticket offers for the Science Museum; I know they do them (or did do them) for Cadbury World and possibly Warwick Castle. (Is there a bus? or is that just too hellish to contemplate?)
I was going to the first car boot of the season this morning. Well, I don't know if they've given up due to rain but I think they will so CBA. Him Indoors has gone, despite being a rain phobic when it suits... :rotfl:Bless his funny little ways:rotfl:‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Shortbird, the tube is hellish, but buses can be quite fun! At least you get to see where you're going, and the Science Museum is in such a lovely area. Travelcards in London are usually the thing - they're valid for tube or bus. Might want to look at oyster cards - the unit price per journey is half that on the tube, and if you can find a cheap way of getting to London, they're ideal. They want a £3 deposit, and I'm not sure about closing it down when you don't want it any more, but really worth investigating.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

I was hoping to take the children down to London for the day during the Easter holidays too, but might have to take a rain check on that one, if I can't get uber cheap tickets on the train. They want to go to the science museum, so we can do it cheaply once we are there, but the train tickets will take up a bit.
Check out coach tickets H - DD gets them for around £9 Norwich - London.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0

We usually get the coach because it works out cheaper, and will def look at it again - in the past I have got a family travel card too, which knocks off one child price and is worth it if more than one journey a year is planned.
KC, I am putting the money from m/b and m/s etc away in my egg savings account - it is there building up an emergency fund, as I have otherwise got little or nothing to fall back on.
It is "instant access" in that I can transfer it to a current account, but it takes about 3 days to do so, so I am less likely to dip into it for things that are not necessary.
So, if the budgets really don't work, I can withdraw some of the egg money, but I really don't want to, as otherwise I have nothing for emergencies.
Obviously, if the emergencies don't appear, and the balance increases nicely, then I can use it in due course to settle the barclayloan early. But I'm not going to plan that, as such, at the moment.
Am just working my way through surveys.....have done a pureprofile and a lightspeed.......got a couple more to do, but coffee needed first!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Just to say that all the museums were free last time I went to London. Went to Imperial War and Maritime last August.0

Hi Hypno, not to put a dampner on your plans but aren't train strikes planned for the easter weekend? (sorry!)Natwest Card 27.06.10 (reduce every month) £267.63
Gave up smoking 16th July 2007 :T0 -
Its ok, nelmer, I am off work the following week, so we are looking at going mid week sometime.
angela, yes, we were working on the basis the science museum is free to get in. If we take a packed lunch, then we can have a fairly cheap day, as long as DD stays away from the shops! I can take her to Knightsbridge, because I don't think she has been there......but we will have to have rules on spending
Surveys are up to date - I could get £3 to paypal from lightspeed, but am almost at £5 so will hold out for another week or so.......slowly slowly!
Will finish my current coffee, then do an hour's blitzing on the house.....which should make enough of a difference to justify leaving the rest!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
