Just spotted your edit that the washing machine is fixed. Brilliant news.

We had one when the boys were young where either a 1p or 2p coin (can't remember which) would block the pump and it then needed replacing, (yes I did try to check every pocket, but the occasional one slipped through). For a start OH normally fixed it, but when he was working away I got so that I'd go to the electrical spare parts shop, and replace it myself. It's amazing what you learn to do when the cash isn't there :) I also have my basic plumbing kit too :)
  • on a money note. Hoovered our suite this morning and am now £1.51 the richer for my efforts. Think I will tackle the car next...

Hypno - when you are in London, it is perfectly easy to walk from the Science Museum to Knightsbridge. We did it the other way around during the Feb half-term and that was at the end of a rather busy day.

I always like the The Natural History Museum too - and the The V&A, all next door to each and all free!

    Sounds like fun :)

I checked on Travelodge, the Stratford upon Avon one is open now. I would suggest booking it early, as I assume it's going to be popular. I assume you're already on the Travelodge emails about the specials.

If you do go there let me know, we used to live in Stratford. There's a super fish & chip shop, a nice jacket potatoe shop, and BHS for breakfast has window tables with views over the canal boats and the RSC (you need to be there when it opens to get the nice tables), normally when we go one goes and sits and the other orders.

Parking at the Stratford Travelodge is free (subject to availability) according to their website currently, and 0.6 miles from the town centre.

    Thank you se!!

I have solved the issue of the third annual pass - a kindly MSE'er has agreed a deal whereby I will buy their clubcard vouchers at a price that I would be prepared to pay on ebay. We both win that way.....she gets more than she would get using them in tescos, and I get to save on my final pass :)

I'm quite looking forward to this summer now :j

Well done on sorting out the third pass.

Warwick Castle is part of the Tussaud's group, if you're not so much into waxworks and gimics, our favorite castle near there is Kenilworth Castle (English Heritage), very much more the romantic ruins, the old town is nice too. There's a pub opposite the castle, which is on nectar points, so part of a chain, not sure which, we used it a lot when the boys were at Uni near there, food was always good, and pay parking for the carpark behind reimbursed if you ate there.

I think we used Tesco vouchers at the Kenilworth pub, but I have recently used them in Stratford at Belle Italia, so if other people want to sell vouchers, it could be worth buying some for your holiday, hint, hint :D
