Well, the snowball calculator says that if I can maintain the current payments on the debt and the mortgage, then I can be rid of the debt by summer next year, and can be rid of the whole entire mortgage by April 2023.....
Apart from this year, when I have to pay my bonus to my mum to repay the money she has lent me, this doesn't rely on any future bonuses which I will hopefully use for uni costs for the children, and which I won't allocate towards debt repayments.
So - as long as I can hold onto my job, and do well at it, we should be ok. Sounds easy, but I need to get myself properly "sorted" in order that I can do well at work, because it is not an environment that you can be in, long term, if you are "below par" in any way.
Very important, therefore, to get the balances right! Seemples!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I know its all relative but your mortgage payment is more than my monthly income!!Luckily my mortgage is only about a third of yours:rotfl:
It is a fairly large proportion of my monthly income too!! There isn't a lot left for things like eating once the house bills are paid!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I am better at silent cheerleading really - and I have to confess I do pinch all your good ideas as well!!!
Seriously well done though, on how well you have done so far. What you have gone through in the last few weeks and how well you are looking to adapt today and tomorrow to see you through is inspirational.

Hi hypno, I recently started to dip into your last thread and am now just about managing to keep up with the swift pace on here. Your opening post is very inspirational and I am hoping to bear in mind the 'living in the moment' that each day is. I have not read all of your diaries - or even all the last one
but what comes across is all you have achieved, you have so much to be proud of which I know can be difficult to realise at times. *subscribes*

Hypno, I know you already work hard but you have said in the past you find your alternative therapy work relaxing if its only the odd client so do you think you could 'plug' that side of things to do maybe just one client at the weekend and then you get some relaxation while also earning money which could possibly be your own personal spends for clothes?
I'm glad you finally know where you stand figures wise and liking the 'just for today' too x0 -
DedicatedDFW, yes I HAVE achieved a lot, but it is largely because this site has kept me focused! And of course, I didn't achieve it all on my own. OH did his bit too. And the result is that we can both manage going forward, financially, from here. He has no debt, and I can manage what I have. That is a situation that wouldn't have been possible just a couple of years ago.

Yes, KM, I am thinking of doing a bit more of that. I've got some teaching lined up, and we are still doing regular work on the downloads too, though, so I don't want to start taking on too much.
