Well done Hypno, you're doing a great job there...I on the other hand have ventured to Laura Ashley, bought wall paper and a nice photo frame and done sod all to my bedroom, whoops! Wonder if I have had any emails with interest to the computer unit, that would cover todays spend *ahem*

Oh Hypno, I wish I lived nearer to give you a hand. I know the frustration of having the will but not the strength to get everything done that you need to......

Plus, I have oceans of polyfilla I could throw your way. Hope the crack turns out to be nothing serious. I'm sure if it were, you would have seen further evidence by now.

Well done, hopefully you'll sleep tonight :A

But I was not overly impressed at the large crack in the wall, that is more than just a settlement crack in the plaster from when it was built :( It will need more investigating, but in the short term I will polyfill it and paint over it, and see if it moves further over the next year or so, when I will make a decision about what to do next. I don't have a great track record with houses that have large cracks appearing :o

After my lunch I will head into the garage in search of some polyfilla - if I can't find any, I will paint the ceiling instead, and get a bus into town tomorrow to get polyfilla and will do it that way round instead.

Well the MSE Gods of DiY must have been looking down on me.....I went into the garage in search of polyfilla, and found a brand new big tub of "Plaster Repair"......so have done a most acceptable job of filling in the big cracks, plus all the other smaller holes where things have been screwed into walls etc.

I managed to get the wardrobe about the third of the way down the stairs, then a friend called by who has been painting her utility room today (can't you tell it is bank holiday!) and so she helped me get it outside, thankfully!

I've started painting the ceiling - but it is now getting dark, and ceilings need daylight. So I will call it a day for now and will get cracking on it in the morning - the ceiling may well need two coats, so am aiming for one before lunch, and one after.

    I will get there :T
