Just caught up with your thread. Wondered if you could put an ad on freecycle for someone to collect wardrobe / wardrobe shell / spare wood (or whatever state the wardrobes are now in) with a note to say will help to load car. That means it's out of the house and saves you a trip to the skip. I can't see you have anything to lose - the worse that could happen is that someone doesn't turn up!
By putting an offer on freecycle you could then put on a wanted ad for some polyfilla.
Locally we've had offered and wanted posts for both these sorts of things in the last couple of weeks so it's not as mad an idea as it sounds.
However, I appreciate you might enjoy taking the lump hammer to whatever ends up in the garden to release some of the built up stress... and maybe that should be the priority.0 -
Could you take a chainsaw to it in the room and turf it out the window? Not that thats what I'd do or anything but its v. therapeutic.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500

Well, one wardrobe is out on the patio ready for the lumphammer/saw and the other is still in the middle of the spare room waiting for me to be brave enough to take it down the stairs! I keep telling myself I have done one, so I can do another, but for some reason I can't remember how I did it without damaging either myself or my walls or my light fittings, so am reluctant to give it a go just yet!
Have just stopped for lunch, having taken down the shelves, curtain pole, boxed up the books that were in there which may or may not make it back onto the bookshelf, have disposed of an old computer and printer that don't work, and have stripped the wallpaper back on the wall that was behind the wardrobe.
After my lunch I will head into the garage in search of some polyfilla - if I can't find any, I will paint the ceiling instead, and get a bus into town tomorrow to get polyfilla and will do it that way round instead.
I will be very pleased to get into a hot bath tonight, that much is for sure!

Have just got a Tesco credit card - with a limit of £5750.......oh how times have changed :rotfl:
What it does mean, is that I can transfer my balance on my virgin 0% card which comes to an end next month.....I would like to be able to pay off the whole lot with my bonus, but as I have to pay mum back, I don't think there will be enough left to clear virgin too.
So, I know that I don't have to panic now - I can transfer the balance and stick with 0% for a while longer (2% BT fee to take into consideration, but much better than the normal interest rate).
Right, had better get back upstairs and do something productive - spare rooms don't transform themselves into offices by themselves!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Well done Hypno on the room and the credit card.
I agree with your just get rid if it makes you feel better. I've signed up to FlyLady (the actual website) and apart from cleaning my sink can't say I've got very far yet but the actual reasoning behind the clutter as really helped, so I feel there is hope yet, lol!
I can imagine the lure of a skip is I'm dreaming of one myself at the moment and longing for warmer weather and some help to fill it, lol!0 -
