Thanks sally - I don't want to be rash and throw everything out without thought - but I have wanted for a while (as people who have read past diaries will know) to get rid a lot of things that I have held onto for years, leaving me just with the basics and the chance to work out exactly what I want & need going forward.

Too often we hold onto things for too many reasons. Sometimes a real attachment to something, which is fine, sometimes out of necessity eg passports and birth certificates, but sometimes just because we have no real reason to get rid of them.....even though we don't use them/like them/have space for them!

As you say, very therapeutic. And I think I need to continue doing this over the course of this year.

well in the loosest sense, haven't really been out much over the last 3 weeks. Now I have the holidays for 2 weeks which will be almost impossible but then I am back onto it :) In fact I am going to stay at my mums on Saturday/Sunday so I shall take my stuff with me and try and get out :D

Have a good Easter weekend, Hypno, put on some loud rock music (or whatever music takes your fancy), dance around while you are stripping (wallpaper, that is!) and you will have that room done in no time at all, and get a bit of exercise as well. And enjoy Cafe Rouge, I like those places as well for food and ambience.

Ah yes, I am looking forward to tackling things this weekend. DS is out doing paper rounds (amazing how many people ring in sick on a bank holiday!) and DD is still in bed - I agreed with her not to get her up until 9. OH is coming to collect them at 10.15 so at 9 I will get myself shifted and sorted so that I am ready to do battle with the spare room as soon as they are gone.

Music will def be the order of the day :D

OH brought stuff out before we came, so we've got the equiv of 4 hold cases/bags (fortunately some are sports bags to flatpack inside other bags), and got to cut it down to 2, so going to cull the clothes here before we go back too. But can't do it until last minute, as won't have enough clothes to wear otherwise.

Is there any news on DD's job? Is it going to restart?

We had a chat about her job last night actually. We've not heard further from them. As she takes her GCSEs in the next few weeks, she is happy to leave things as they are for now. She will then be 16, so will have much more choice available to her - as most people she applied to said her age was against her.

Two stores, in particular, said they would take her on when she was 16, so after Easter she will get in touch with them and try and get something lined up.

    hypno,
When you are getting rid of clothes, please think of me. I am still a 16 but a 14 on top most of the time but plan on being a 12/14 in the month following my holidays-I will buy clothes off of you!
