I am a little worried that if I veg, I will slip into depression-type mode. If I am doing something positive, I am hoping that it will create more energy on all levels. Plus, any work that is done on the house is work that is much needed!

Am home.....2 more days until I have some time off.

DD has started demolishing stuff in the spare room Offer a 15 year old the chance to swing a hammer about, and you are onto a winner!

I've got a couple of matched bets to do this evening.....need to have my wits about me as they are in-play, but should get a few much appreciated ££ for them over the next few days.

And that, I guess, will be about as much as I can muster tonight. The housework is closing in on me but I will just do it when I have energy.

There were some mighty big splinters left! And I have cleared out a cupboard too, ready for that to be taken apart. I need to sort out some old computer equipment and decide what can be dumped what can be recycled etc, then I can empty the wardrobe that is in there and take that down too.

By the end of the Easter weekend, it will look very different

(or in even more of a state than it ever was!)

Hi Hypno, you sound busy busy as ever! Decorating spare room defo sounds like a BH project hope you get stuck in and finish it.

Our spare/music/ironing room has a drum practice kit, a keyboard, 3 guitars ironing board and huuuge basket of ironing an old chair (with ironing basket on it lol! and an old pc corner unit filled with my ebay stuff! OH wants to clear room out to decorate and guess what the only junk that 'has' to go is my cupboard! He can coco!

We are doing the garden this weekend - my greenhouse arrives tomorrow with 1/2 tonne topsoil. the 20' trench we dug is now filled to the top with rainwater so I am deliberating throwing the muck in and having a mud wrestling comp this weekend lol! knowing my lot they would love it

Yup, your spare room sounds pretty normal to me, CG :rotfl:

The weather forecast here for the weekend is pants, so doing the garden is not high on my list. The spare room will be the perfect low cost project, wet bank holiday project, and will make a really nice office space, which will hopefully in turn encourage me to be more productive

I have spoken to the children about moving house in a couple of years. I think the reality is that it will be 3-4 years, so to get the house as right as we can for us for the next few years is now more of a priority, rather than just making do and doing next to nothing for a potential sale (if that makes sense).

Hope the weekend revamp project goes well, I always find that if a room has a purpose then it doesn't get quite so much of the "endless tatt of life" shoved in it awaiting distribution to where it should have gone in the first place.

I am however a master at disguising a box of "stuff" with a tablecloth....just to make it look ok for now!!!
