See, bun, I would say "I am grateful for a healthy DD and DS. I am grateful that they can go and ski, and enjoy their sport. I am grateful for the fact that I can matched bet, and mystery shop in order that they can do these things. I am grateful for the fact that I have just remembered that I have a free bet to place in the morning. I am grateful for the fact that I have remembered to remind myself to transfer money to the right bank account to put the matched bets on. I am grateful for the fact that I have milk in the fridge to make coffee to see me through the day. I am grateful for the fact that I can go and buy more milk tomorrow to see me through Sunday.......and will buy all the things for next week's meal plan while I am there"

    Etc etc etc......see my problem!!

I'm the same, that's when I'd be getting up and on the laptop or scribbling notes.

I suppose we could try counting sheep, or even shaun the sheep!!!

Just wondered Hypno, when you wake in the middle of the night have you tried the yoga deep relaxation exercise, the one where you lie down and gradually relax every part of the body, starting with toes. You have to concentrate just of the part of the body you are relaxing, so it can distract the brain. It sometimes works for me, even if it doesn't it does deeply relax the body and removes some of the stress and tension.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I had a long period of sleep deprivation after little DD was born and though I know being woken against your will differs from insomnia, it eventually led to insomnia. I went through a lot of anxiety where I would lie awake worrying about stuff, my mind racing like a train as you described.

Someone advised me to imagine how I would spend a lottery win or how I would redecorate the house. These do calm the mind, but you need to actually shut down the mind. The best things I've found for this are imagining I'm lying on beach listening to the ocean swishing in and out and if my mind wanders, pulling myself back to that image and feeling. Or even making myself stare at ceiling and telling myself I must not close my eyes. That one works a treat!

yes, that is one of my fave relaxation exercises.....as you say, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't!

Right, showered, dressed, bedding in the washing machine....mystery shop stuff printed and read, another qualifying bet on....off to start the taxi-ing around!

    Back in a while :)

    Morning hypno

Happy taxiing (is that a real word?) I am wondering if the bedding in the machine will dry if its on the line, so sick of the house looking like a laundry.

Off to catch up on some diaries

First batch of running around done - mystery shop done, just needs inputting, which I will do after coffee...

Next load of washing in the machine - its raining here so a legitimate reason to use the tumble dryer. I use it anyway, but with it not being MSE I am made to feel guilty......unless it is raining :D

The ironing pile is creeping up again, though - after many weeks of it being nicely under control, so I need to do that today, and have added it to my list.

So....going to mooch around here until midday, then do an hour's work of somesort, then the next batch of taxi-ing, matched betting, cooking, and then probably ironing while watching Saturday night telly.....

Tomorrow DS is playing football in the morning, so by the time we get back from that it will be lunchtime, and I would like to have the house sorted enough so that I walk into something resembling "nice".....well, we can but hope!

I suffer from restless brain too.

I now do the brain dump as one of my last activities...do a nice little mind map of next day with work, finances, appointments, shopping, kids whatever and list everyhing under the headings. Then teeth and Pjs. Add whatever else I just thought of to map. Then bed and book and if any last thing crept into my head add that. Then lights out and zonko.

Big dump, baby dump, one last thing dump usually gets the bulk of it out for me.

(And if anyone reads that sentence without the proceeding para then bet you think "yeugh - too much info" now!!)
