Thankyou for trying again with the mb stuff Hypno, but it still won't let it in :o However, some helpful person on the questions thread has found me the formula, so all is good again with my spreadsheet :)

We went to swimming and ds did well, then we went to tescos and spent £45 although the cupboards are all full to bursting this time so I'm hoping not to need much next week :o

We were planning on a walk down the beach later but the rain is piling down yet again so maybe a change of plan. I think we might make some craft stuff as ds is at his dads on friday and saturday and then its Easter, so no other time really to do it. I also need to do the end-of-the-month finance checking too :)

No problem!! ~Sorry that the mb thing didn't work though!

Am just doing my tesco shop online.....can't face the supermarket :o I am working from a list though, so trying to be strict (and healthy!).

With the cost of petrol and your/my valuable time doing an online shop is def cost effective and I shall be starting mine next week. Stops you from buying rubbish too :)

That's the way I see it too, Sally - plus I hate supermarket shopping, so any stress saved has got to be worth it!!

£145 though - but it is my month's main shop with plenty of freezer stuff and staples so am expecting little in the way of additional expenses (bread, milk and fruit, but little else). This is my shopping budget almost used up, so will be very careful from here!

Lunch now, then I must get on with some houseworky type stuff......shame it doesn't do itself!

Not sure I could do a monthly shop as I don't have a huge amount of cupboard space...guess if I menu planned did loads of batch cooking once it arrived it might be doable...will have to think about that!

One of the things I'm looking forward to when I move is to have a freezer again and be able to batch cook and save some money :D

I do plan mine quite thoroughly sally which makes all the difference - if I try and do it weekly or ad hoc, I seem to end up spending far far more over the course of the month :o

benben, that freezer space will be yours soon!

Its just a case of finding what works for you - I've had times in the past where I have written down each day's meal in my filofax - people thought it was quite odd to see "Thursday 25th.....DD - babysitting 7.30, DS - 6-8 football, me 7pm parents evening, spag bol" etc....but it worked - no one starved!!
