On the diet I'm doing there's a recipe for bolognese over shredded cooked cabbage. I've not tried it yet, but I have to say it looks nice and I'm going to give it a whirl!

Hi Hypno and friends, I'm inspired by this meal planning and envelopes. Think I'm going to do that myself. I need a kick up the bum and I am very definitely more Margot than Barbara Goode

Hope all's well with everyone x

My mum and dad used to watch them. I wasn't allowed to stay up that late :D

I prefer it over uncooked shredded white cabbage - gives a nice crunch and you don't notice it is not hot! Same goes for curry.....yum yum yum.

I've just done my scratches, lucielle - seemed ok to me.

Buffy - I needed far more envelopes than I expected. Scary stuff!!

For all you dieting ladies, I'm currently munching on homemade popcorn. 51p for a bag of popping corn in Sainsburys (see I told you I was Margot - no Lidl for me! :o:D)

It might be a bit simplistic, but my friend used to just have 4 - Week 1, Week 2, Week 3, Week 4.

She'd work out how much cash was left in the account after bills, then withdraw the total amount to spend for herself and food, then divide that between 4 (or 5 I guess if it's a 5 week month).

It really did work for her, as she said "when it's gone, its gone". I really do need to adopt that level of discipline. I have far too many "just nip to the shop for x" and spend 30 quid.

I hereby pledge I WILL sign up to do my version of the envelope system and will start next Friday on payday!
