Thank you TPA.
I know I am hard on myself, and I do try not to be. Must try harder
Off to bank, scratch, and generally wake myself up. Hope you all have a good day. It is chilly here, but it looks as though it will be nice later on. Good morning Hypno
Chilly here too, but due to get a lot hotter according to the forcast.
Hoping to be really good on the diet front today, but I do find it harder to lose weight in the summer, maybe it's not using so many calories to keep warm.
On the exercise front, I spotted a thread on the health & beauty bit of mse about fitflops, I honestly thought they wouldn't work, but Avon had some on promo so nowhere near as expensive as the Reebok ones, so thought I'd give it a try. I just wore them around the house, and I think they do work!!!! Calves and legs do seem a bit better tonewise. There's more info about them on the mse thread if anyone's interested.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
One of my secretaries is wearing fitflops to help her posture as she has back problems, and when my budget allows, I will def be looking at them too. (X)OH has some MBTs which work on the same basis and says they are the best shoes he has ever bought - just as well, really because they were also the most expensive shoes he has ever bought!
I have left all forms of payment at home today, so no chance of me spending anything. Prob just as well....
I have brought in lunch, so will be good on the food front too. I need to regain control sharpish!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Morning Hypno
Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit down, but you are amazing and you must remember that! You have come through all what has happened in the recent months without getting further into debt, your children are happy, you are providing a roof over your heads and you have now wallowed in self pity as I'm sure I would have done.
It is good to reflect and restructure now and then which is obviously what you are doing, as it helps put you back on track. But remember you have had a tough start and you are doing amazing.
Hope you have a good day1st debt - Next [STRIKE]£583.32[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£408.71 [/STRIKE] £0 :j

I work in shoe shop which sells both FitFlops and MBTs and have a pair of both, so I second Hypno's secretary and (X)OH (the MBTs are my work shoes and I find them very comfy despite spending all day, every day running up and down a large set of stairs). Word to the wise: if anyone is ever getting a pair of MBTs make sure that they really fit before you buy them as they aren't cheap and have to fit perfectly in order to work and not hurt your feet. But when they do, oooooooh...they are great! Please call me 'Pickle'

Morning Hypno!I know I am hard on myself, and I do try not to be. Must try harder
I love this
It was chilly here first thing in the morning too - I was wearing a lightweight winter fleece, if that makes sense - but its T shirt weather alreadyI confess, I didn't know what MBT stood for - just googled it, and thankfully I'm not completely out of touch, I have seen them around. They might well help me - my feet hurt when I walk, as well as everything else
so when I go shoe shopping, I'll give them a go.

Hi H and all,
Dodgy connection so failed to get any internet access yesterday and off and on most of the time.
Hypno, I know you don't want students but you have that as a safety net/ fall back option. Equally you are overpaying your mortgage and although you don't want to decrease payments there, you know that is another fall back safety option. So all will be well.
If students may be an option could you have a temp one as you did before? Last summer was it? Much less of a commitment but a welcome extra pot.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
On the student idea, have you thought of trying to get a 'weekday' lodger. Sometimes people can't relocate for work, and just want somewhere for the 4 weekday nights. Also you sometimes get mature students or post-grads in that position too. You'd only have them around in the evenings on those nights, and have the house to yourself the rest of the time. Being adults you've got none of the responsibility or running around that come with the younger exchange ones.0

The short term students are a little more difficult on my own, because there is a fair amount of running them about (they are only here for 2 or 3 weeks and have a huge programme of activities that they need getting to and picking up from). This was not so much of a problem with 2 of us to do the running around, but more difficult to do with ski related stuff going on for my two as well.
It is there if things get really tough, but I am hoping to manage - apart from anything, I no longer have a "spare room" so would have to spend money on bedroom furniture again, which would negate the cost of a couple of short termers.
Longer term students are actually much easier in many ways on a logistics basis, and also on a cost basis.
We shall see - what will be will be. I know I am being very resistant, but after 5 years of sharing the family home with paying guests, and before that having a live in nanny, we like being "us"Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
