I found a whole box of brand new envelopes from when I was self employed, so no shortage there - most of the "sticky" has dried out, so they are no good for sending anything, so will be ideal for the budgets.

Went to WW and there was no surprise that I put on 2lbs. I was expecting it as I have not been tracking these last few days, and due to "stuff" going on in my head, have been comfort eating, which is not good.

so, will nip it in the bud and aim to lose it again by next week. Have agreed that will stop paying and use this as my "goal" weight for those purposes, although still aiming for below 10st.

As you all know, I am reluctant to have another student, as I want the space for me and the children, but the money is worrying me. I rang up to express an interest again, but they have already allocated next years students. They will let me know if anyone drops out or if students request a change of family part way through.

I feel better now that I have at least asked about the students, as otherwise I would have been blaming myself for not trying a bit further down the line. As it is, the decision is now out of my hands, so I will continue working on the income that I know is coming in.

I am starting to get a bit "spaced out" with it all again and I just don't like the feeling. I want everything to be settled so that I can relax a little, but like many on here, that time is still some way off, despite the big improvements we have already made.

It's that wading through jelly feeling :o

I'm sure you do, taxi! I just feel a bit "lost" at the moment.....need to slap myself a bit, administer a swift kick up the backside, and give myself a jolly good talking to!

If you are a bit lost then I must be Lord Lucan . I think you have already done the talking to bit from the comments on the last few days.

I can now scratch and bank!!! I've got internet banking on my now one and only current account and an e-account with money in it £32.40 to be precise which includes £12.40 from scratchies. Its a start, I even considered the rounding down option to even out my bank account :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know that wading through jelly feeling, Hypno. At the moment, its only coming in short bursts for me, just before or just after I do something big - I had it all morning today, I could tell I wasn't going to be much good for anything, and it turns out to have been because I *knew* I had to go up to the loft and start bringing more stuff down. I've just finished (second set of three - I'll do the rest next week) and I feel *so* much better for it. Is there a little project like that that will improve your environment? Do you have some home-making stuff to do because of the windows, say?

can i just say as one with new windows as well that the next few days are probably taken up with vacuuming, dusting, vacuuming again, dusting again... oh, and having another go at cleaning the windows:D And we discovered we can rearrange the entire living room as there isn't a ruddy great draught on one side of the room:cool:
We don't have quite so much view from our flat as the glass area is smaller but oh my, it's quiet!

Went to see Robin Hood on the Orange Wednesday 2 for 1 at a cinema with a points card system; the points card gave us a large drink and popcorn for free and we got a bogof ticket voucher as well. Got home and Boots vouchers have arrived. Oh, and there was a "buy a main get another for £1" voucher for Pizza Express in today's Metro but we're going on the Orange deal as it's more food. :money:

if i was sat on your sofa right now hypno, saying to you what you have said above, what would you be saying to me? i bet my bottom dollar you would be saying to me, you've done it already so you can do it again, its natural to have times when you feel down and for life to catch up with you and give you a clip round the head. its how we move forward that counts. you'd alllow me to feel a little sorry for myself for a short while, make me a cuppa, then talk through ways to move on.. baby steps remember. you already have a plan, you ALWAYS have a plan. you've investigated the students, you're planning your finances properly. remember those days where you had over 1k per month defecit.
What you have experienced this last year is devastating for anyone. you have dealt with it all admirably, head and shoulders above the rest. Have you taken to your bed with stress for 3 months? nope. is your house being repossessed because you cant get by without a man as a financial crutch? nope! who has paid off the majority of your 100k debt? you have!!!
So allow yourself to be spaced out for a day or two. allow yourself to feel like its jelly. then look down, see that you are actually walking through water, be proud of yourself, pick yourself up and carry on.
Dont forget i'm always at the end of the phone, or a text, or a drive and next week i'll be kicking your !!!! in person. be afraid.... ;)

dammit i've got that wrong havent i? what you'd really be saying is, stop moaning and pass me another bloomin jaffa cake woman!! :rotfl:

Re WW - if you are at goal, or no more than 5lbs above it, you can weigh in for free.

Once you go above 5lbs over goal, you have to pay again, so it acts as a motivator to stay good!
I don't think you can go more than 5lbs under either :D

Am very much looking forward to next Friday :D

    Like *that's* likely :rotfl:

But yes, you are right, you can't go more than 5lbs under, but you can reduce your goal weight if you want to, as long as you stay within a healthy BMI.

I really want to be more than 5lbs under my current weight, and indeed my original goal is still half a stone away. But in order to save money, my goal will be set as it is now, and I can then carry on as planned, hopefully, and can reduce the goal if all goes well!

  • Hypno, I just had to pop out of virtual lurkdom and say what an inspirational woman you are. I wish we could have a street where all the MSE ers lived. But most of all I wish you were not has hard on yourself. As someone else mentioned, if any of us had achieved half what you had, you would be the first person handing out the congratulations and jaffa cakes.

    Big hugs
