I am sure it was dirt and cobwebs keeping my old ones in situ!!
Same here at the moment:rotfl::rotfl:Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
Still lurking around with a hope of some salvation:cool:0 -
Bet you feel loads better having got the new windows in as they make such a difference.0

Just need to get round to cleaning them now.......some hope!
Right, off to bed to see if I can actually give the impression I am awake at my desk tomorrow.....was touch and go today for sure!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Re envelopes, I used to do the same sort of thing with jars, I have sort of fell out of doing it recently - which predictably has lead to a huge f888 up in the "budget"
need to start again in July!
Windows sound good xxxxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Well it is payday next Weds, so I am going to start the envelopes today for the last week of the month with my remaining meagre funds, as I still have a lot to cover eg DDs birthday etc.....might as well start as I mean to go on!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. My friend used to do the envelopes and it really worked for her. If she had a wedding coming up, or something big to pay for, she borrowed it out of each envelope - thus decreasing the amount she had for the weeks. Seems sensible to me - but not being that sensible in the money department, I doubt I could do it
Great news about the windows - we're getting ours done in 3 weeks. I'm a bit sad really. We have mainly sash windows and I love them, but I know other people don't. It seems sad to be ripping them out when they've worked perfectly (with no condensation) for over 100 years
Anyway - have a good day Hypno!0 -
Mine weren't as lovely as sash windows - mine were pure 1990 mass produced tat.....
Not any more though
I've tried all sorts of budgeting stuff - my last method worked for a few months but then I lost my way a bit and started spending too much.
Hopefully this will get me back on track, and then I can go back to the way it was before - after OH first left, I was very much on top of the finances, and was even able to build up savings....so I CAN do this, I just have to get back to a point where it works, and that involves being very strict again.
I will let you know how I get on of course!
Right, the shower beckons.....have a good day everyone xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
It's good that you try a method, then when that stops working, you try something else, rather than my method - give up!
Inspiring as usual *now where are those envelopes....*0 -
