We shall see - what will be will be. I know I am being very resistant, but after 5 years of sharing the family home with paying guests, and before that having a live in nanny, we like being "us" :o

    Thats a good thing :j

Right, have made a meal plan for the next fortnight. almost exclusively out of things in the cupboards and freezer. Just need some peppers, courgettes and mushrooms which won't cost much (am growing my own but some way off harvesting yet!) so that is another job well done.

    You're doing really well hypno.

I need to be extremely strict this month too to get back on track. But things that I haven't planned for are already creeping in...:(

I was very strict for the first 3 months of the year.....then April and May went a bit haywire. I did it so well for Jan-March, then obviously started relaxing a bit too much and took my MSE eye off the ball, with things creeping in where they really shouldn't have done.

    So, strictness returns :D

It is just so darned easy to let things slip! I do sometimes wonder if I will ever be "comfortably off" ie not having to worry so much. And I think the answer is "no" in that the surplus would never be so much that I could lead the lifestyle I would like to lead.

Don't get me wrong, it is better than it was, and will get better in the future, but even with no debt, the difference between incoming and outgoing is never going to be vast!!

Hi all. I must start batch cooking again as food bill getting out of control. However I struggle in the summer. The winter warming stews, cottage pies curry's etc don't hit home for me when its hot..... what sort of things do you batch cook in the summer?

Do you have the recipe? I bought an aubergine yesterday but I'm not sure what to do with it! (Note to self don't go shopping when hungry and without a list!) :o :rotfl:
