bunny, you deserve hugs for missing your mum!
shortbird, I do often benefit from a mid morning and mid afternoon snack - but the problem is that I am only allowed 18 points on WW, so to fit in three meals and snacks, plus milk for coffee doesn't stretch very far! And if I were to have two low point snacks of say 1.5 or 2 points each in the course of the day, (for example a banana is 1.5 points for a smallish one) then I am eating (excuse the pun) into my daily allowance quite significantly, and then am in danger of trying to go without a proper lunch or dinner, just to catch up my points!
I don't fancy an apple or anything "good" for snack, I fancy a biscuit or choc, or banana, but they are all far too many points. Heaven forbid if I have a kitkat at 5 or 6 points - that is a third of my allowance for the day, but certainly not going to fill me up like 6 points should!!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Enjoy your evening X'The road to a friends house is never long'0 -
Thanks souk - it has been a really long week, despite only having 4 days at work....so BGT on the telly is about all I am good for - thankfully, that is all I have to do, so I am quite content.
Hope you are all having a relaxing evening too xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

The tears are not far away, cherisong, but I think that is down to the addition of tiredness to the equation as much as anything else.
I love the Random Act of Kindness thing - many many years ago, Oprah did a whole programme on it, and I was amazed at how infectious it was. As a result, I have often done little things to try and make someone smile, and love it when the same happens to me. Just things like someone giving you their "surplus" time when they are about to leave a pay and display car park, or getting an extra stamp on your loyalty card in the coffee shop because the guy before you doesn't have a card himself, or being given a free ride on the bus.....all things guaranteed to get you smiling at someone else's generosity, and generally all things that don't actually cost anyone anything
Ditto to all of those things. And yes since reading about it I try to do it too. I especially like the car park ticket giving. Although last week somebody actually said to me Whats the catch? :rotfl: So I said that the only catch was he had to pass the same favour on to somebody if he was in the position to do so!

Oh, my main meals are plenty big enough, because I have a lot of salad or veg with them. Breakfast for me is generally porridge which is good, and only 1.5 points. Salad, soup or sandwich for lunch with plenty of salad to pack it out, and a proper evening meal, with lots of veg and protein.
It is the snacks that I battle with - one cake, or bar of chocolate (or three doughnuts as was the case on Saturday) and it is game over for the day!! And I am not one of those people that can have "just one biscuit"....for me, one packet of chocolate hobnobs is far preferable than just one of the blighters, and as for not finishing a packet of jaffacakes in one sitting - well, it just isn't possible! So really, the best thing is for me to stay away pretty much all the time!
But, it IS working - almost lost 2 stone, and it is definitely a healthier way of eating. So I will stick with it!
