A colleague has bought me a lovely bottle of wine to enjoy at the weekend. He thought I "could do with it".

:T:T:TIs he part of that Danny Wallace group, Join Me, they all do Random Acts of Kindness on a Friday and I think that is a lovely thing to do. It can be anything you like and either for somebody you know or a complete stranger. I hope that it made you smile and not burst into tears though :rotfl::rotfl:

Aren't most people lovely when given the incentive to be so?

    Happy Friday Hypno

    That's nice. Watch those points.

When OH and I got together we used to have a twin tub. I had to take the day off work when I got down to the last pair of knickers so I could get the washing done. OH was farming at the time so you can imagine the colour of the water by the time I got to the end! It also used to 'chase' me across the kitchen.

The tears are not far away, cherisong, but I think that is down to the addition of tiredness to the equation as much as anything else.

I love the Random Act of Kindness thing - many many years ago, Oprah did a whole programme on it, and I was amazed at how infectious it was. As a result, I have often done little things to try and make someone smile, and love it when the same happens to me. Just things like someone giving you their "surplus" time when they are about to leave a pay and display car park, or getting an extra stamp on your loyalty card in the coffee shop because the guy before you doesn't have a card himself, or being given a free ride on the bus.....all things guaranteed to get you smiling at someone else's generosity, and generally all things that don't actually cost anyone anything :D

I'm alright there - am already 8.5 points in credit as I have done a fair bit of exercise, and not eaten my full allowance in the last couple of days. I think a bottle of wine is 7 points.

    Perfect :D

'ee, a twin tub! When I was little :rotfl: seriously tho, we had an electric tub that swooshed the clothes around, but there was no second tub to spin the clothes - there was a mangle attached to one side  I think my mum must have used it manually most of the time, because I remember being gobsmacked when I was a bit older and seeing it turn electrically :D We went straight from that to a toploading automatic, it was *amazing* :rotfl:

How lovely! I hope you enjoy the wine.

Our washing machine is out of action too - my good old mum has been doing ours for a week or more. So embarrassing for her to see our grubby socks and holey school jumpers. OH has bought the spare parts on ebay and I am hoping it will be fixed today!
