Hi Hypno
Firstly congrats on the sub 10k.
Secondly I wanted to echo what Cherisong said and not to worry about where you are going. As long as you keep heading in the right general direction (debt busting, weight watching etc), when the time is right you will know what you want to do & be in a better position to do it.
To add my tuppenyworth to the house !!!!!!, I like the second one very much but should point out that my the time you are ready to move being in the school catchment area will no longer matter.0 -
pippa, yes Stoke Holy Cross is in an excellent prime area - I am just in the next village
I love the first house, but I really need somewhere to park so although it is lovely, and is actually just about doable now, I would prefer to hold out for something with off street parking.
The second one is more practical, for sure, and if I am not in the city, it is in my chosen village, but is just outside my reach right now.
But, there is no hurry. One day at a time and all that xSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
I prefer the first house, but they're both lovely really.
I wonder if I'll ever buy a house that nice...or a house at all...DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Who knows.
I think like that, also in early thirties and will be renting for ever at this rate!
I never really wanted a house in my 20's, but now the money I am on I could afford a mortgage monthly but the banks won't give me one with the debts and the fact that I am on my own.
I am just going one step at a time, but sometimes its v depressing - all my friends are home owners!!
Sorry for the hijack Hypno xxNevertheless she persisted.0 -
Yes, sorry hypno for hijack...
Most people I know and grown up have always rented, and their parents too. Never had the urge to own a house, even after 12 years in UK. Don't think I'd want the responsibility on my own either...
Anyway, enough of me. Sorry hypno again. *backs down to lurkdom*DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Who knows, indeed, tirlittan, but if it is meant to be, it will happen, and if it is not meant to be, then it won't!
Besides, early 30s is no barrier to being a homeowner!! More people now are waiting until that age to get a foot on the ladder than ever before!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. I was 38 before I decided to buy my first(only house)..lots of people don't start until later on.
I prefer the 2nd house as it has parking and a conservatory can be put where that big window is and the garden would be manageable...
I do like the 1st one but no parking would drive me mad..lol0 -
I bought my first house at 18
Well, if either of those houses or some very similar are on the market in a year or so, then I might be looking! For now, I will be here and making the most of what I have got.
I picked up the second hand washing machine and OH plumbed it in for me, so I now, finally, have a load of washing in - guess what I will be doing for the next few days......hmm.....but it will be lovely to be back on top of things - overflowing laundry bins and a distinct lack of towels was beginning to drive me mad! It cost £80 which was the same as it would cost just to get someone out to look at my old one, even without the cost of parts and repair, so I am happy enough with that.
Other than that, a NSD - took my lunch in, and avoided the lure of the coffee shop......am doing well.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0
