Red - the original debt was over £100k on cards and loans (on top of the mortgage) and although I was very aware of it, keeping records of payments etc for many years, because of the huge extent of it, my life revolved around survival - making sure everyone was paid, robbing peter to pay paul etc.
Then the real LBM happened in December 2006 when MBNA wrote to say that they were reducing the limit on OH card. The net was closing in, and we knew we had to do something pretty major. At the same time, I was directed here and the rest is history!

Hi Hypno,
Congratulations on being below 10K :j:j:j:T:T:T
Think you are very carefully thinking about next few months but I agree with others on here that you have achieved so much especially in the last few months. It won't be long now.....

Hypno, your achievements are so major, its hard to remember how tight daily things are for you - I guess the spending obscures it all a little further - but your debt goes down in such big chunks because your monthly payments are still so high, aren't they - didn't you say last week that they're £800 a month or something? So its still kind of squeaky (as in, squeaking by, lol) and I really understand you need to stay focussed on staying solvent month to month. Its an effort, no two ways about it - but I'm glad that you've got treats already booked in for the next few months, thats excellent - I have too, by the way! Going to see Paul McCartney in just under 4 weeks time, and like you already paid for.
I hope you *can* really enjoy those things that are booked in, you certainly deserve them :kisses3:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Think we should send you to the Treasury - the country would be sorted in no time!
Fantastic job and an amazing achievement!LBM Feb 2010 £62,700 Total Debt Jan 11 [STRIKE]£49,403.84[/STRIKE] £47,530.32.

There is no point in negative thought, it takes up time and energy which could be used in a positive, happy way!
