Re risotto, DS2 loves it but I find it very 'samey' IYSWIM. But after watching the Jamie effort this week we attempted the tomoato variation and then baked it in red peppers for 20 minutes, totally yum. Can't do cous cous to save my life though.DC.

DC the great thing with risotto is that you can use up whatever you have in the fridge, or just buy a little bit of something expensive to go a long way in a risotto:
eg, butternut squash and goats cheese risotto........yum yum yum......DD likes sausage risotto.......great if you have just one or two sausages left over that can be chopped up.......crabsticks for a cheapy seafood version etc.
Today the weather is pants - grey and wet and cold. I am off to the football this afternoon - last match of the season and celebration time as we have won the league, so the atmosphere will be excellent even if it is chucking it down with rain. Am looking forward to that later on.

I luuurve risotto but the kids are currently at the not liking it stage, DH isnt keen.
The kids loved it when they were younger...nice with chorizzo (sp?) and chicken...Empty pockets never held anyone back, only empty heads and empty hearts can do that -Peale0 -
Hmm, think it is a texture thing with me, can't stand rice pudding either, but the added red pepper with a bit of a bite was good.
Enjoy the footie Hypno.DC.

I too have those joys planned for the weekend.
Have a good day.0 -
Today is Bar Boot day, so I have people with cars picking me up with lots of stuff and bringing me back with significantly less... there you go, the Universe is on notice that I'm decluttering to other people!
Hope everybody has an excellent weekend, I'll check in with results tomorrow as we'll be decluttering Chinese food on my return - oh, and watching Wallander. Can't beat a subtitled Swedish detective series on a Saturday night:D‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.
