Happy Friday to you too souk!
We are in a small city, so nowhere is particularly far from "rural".....getting the best of both worlds. At the moment, I am in a village about 5 miles outside the city which is perfectly fine, but I would just like to walk to work and have a few more cosmopolitan things going on around me!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. I love to live in central london - but I live in a little village which does have a castle but not a lot else!
Happy weekend everyone - DH has taking Explorer Scouts camping so am on my own. Have to go down to mums house tomorrow - do a bit more packing up - it is finally up for sale and on the internet !
Am trying to sort out photos for our Silver Wedding in a few weeks time - not too may of both of us together though !0 -
Ultimately, I want to be within walking distance of work, ski club, football club, etc.......and I have very definite ideas about location in order to enable me to do that.
And the High Street has both Home Bargains, Mand S and Waitrose, as well as 7 charity shops. And, if you're that way inclined, there are 35 different real ales for sale in a variety of pubs:rotfl:‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I can walk to work in 10 minutes and all the good bars in 5 minutes! REALLY expensive though X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

I can walk to work in ooooh, let me think, about 5 seconds :rotfl:
If we could put my nephews old house (the psycho wicked ex has kept it) on our plot we would be really happy, even though you do have to drive to do things, main shop etc. There is a school in the village about 3 minutes walk but it was so bad we chose a better school 4 miles away, but DS has only got 1 year and 1 term left, then he will either catch the bus outside the house, or bike about 1 mile to the other choice school, so not too bad really.0 -
Evening guys - had a lovely sweet potato curry at the ski club for dinner - very yummy and fairly healthy I think, so yum yum yum!
short bird - yes, living simply is something that appeals to me somewhat! But I want simple living with a bit of a buzz about itSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Yup, that'll do!
Well, April is finished, and May is upon us - another month survived and another month closer to being DF.
So, pinch, punch, white rabbits and all that malarky, and I hope May is good to all of us in one way or another.
It's race weekend for us, and I have found myself volunteering as an official, which means free lunch and coffees for me today - so very MSE. The weather is a bit iffy, but it IS bank holiday weekend, so we couldn't expect anything different!
Off to scratch, bank and generally get myself sorted! Hope you all have a good day/weekend xxSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Have a good day yourself.(and everyone else)
Off to work myself now0 -
Have a good day at work Taxi, and hope all the tourists are out in force for you today!
Got £1 on a scratch, which means that I can cash out at the end of next week....10p elsewhere though. Nothing to report in banking. My mortgage and loan payments are due out today, being 1st Month but because of the bank holiday they won't be taken until Tuesday, denying me the ability to update my snowball for another three days!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
