May I suggest a couple of well-chosen accessories to go with your new purchases? You will get more looks out of your "capsule" if you can add a bold piece of jewellery or scarf.....they can transform a simple outfit into something special.
That's my top fashion tip of the day.
Urm.....did I forget to mention the necklace and bracelet I bought? Ooops :rotfl:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
:T:T:T Yay!!! That's the spirit. If you needed more proof - look at DT, she's a new woman after her spree.
Although it's not good for our financial health, ultimately it must be good for our well-being to have the occasional treat to look goodReally please for you!

I did it all with my MSE head on though - bought stuff in the sale and stuck to my "capsule wardrobe" list so that I didn't buy anything surplus to requirements! The actual amount spent really is very reasonableSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Guilt free then - marvelous!
I was going to buy little DD a new dress for her party today, when I remembered that my Mum had bought them both a beautiful dress each a few weeks ago (from Primarni - she IS MSE, if only I'd listened to her I wouldn't be here now) - so hurray for frugaldom!0 -
Oh wow, this is amazing Hypno! You sound like you have a new lease of life - I know the foundations of that newness have been horrible, but you sound reborn, truly. And this means I'm going to have to bring my dormant facebook account back to life so I can see the piccy - you're Hypno on there too, is that right?
Surfbabe - what an amazing find to have made. The earliest letters I've found in the family are from the 1920s - courting letters between my nan and granddad, when she was at home and he was working on a tugboat going all over the English coast, and from the late 1920s when a long lost uncle of my grandad's starting writing from America. Such different lives people led then .....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes, I have mucho shopping bags but little worry about the bill. If the rest of my capsule wardrobe building is in the same vein, then I will be very happy indeed!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Will let you know when it is there, but you can add me as a friend anywaySuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
KC & Gilligansyle, just wondered what frozen veg you use. Other than peas and soya beans I've not really had success with anything I've tried. Same goes for fruit other than the summer fruit/berries mix when it's on offer, which I use as a mush with yoghurt.
With me it's a texture problem, I like vege's normally only just cooked, so from frozen they tend to go too mushy.
Hi there se - peas and soya beans, yes. I use broad beans, but find them a bit floury tbh ... frozen broccoli is only good for stews, on its own its texture is terrible. Frozen spinach is brilliant - I'd never be bothered to use fresh, but you get a little espress cup-size chunk and hey presto, thats one of your five a day. My mum has just started to use frozen chopped onions for stews, too.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Thanks Hypno! Okay, I give in, I'm going back on facebook - I joined to try to connect to my nephews, but it didn't work spectacularly well. I'll be on again, tho, when you give us the word :rotfl:2023: the year I get to buy a car0

That's true KC. I have letters from my own sister when I was at college and she in America. Although it wasn't that long ago - communication has changed so much. Everything is transient now and so temporary.
The letters I have, I will always treasure - I can't say the same for endless deleted texts and emails - shame really.....0
