  • I always find birthdays are a good excuse to treat myself anyway. I really need to knuckle down too now for not spending. All the little treats for the kids mainly. So hard when i realise that DHs payday is this week and we will be skint before it even hits the account.

You are doing so well. Remember it is early days and you will get there and feel better. Don't be too hard on yourself. :o
  • The overdraft is GONE!!!!!:j:j:j

The OH half has given me the money he owes me for staying in the house the last month & along with my repayment for the month it has cleared the OD. I can't believe I am finally debt free, its an amazing feeling and can now really concentrate on the savings both towards the mortgage & to build an emergency fund.

I have also transferred another £400 to savings to match my spending for the month on my 0% card as attempting a slow stooze.

Hope everyone has a good day.

Great news, onwards & downwards now :T
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Well done, Baby Steps! You slayed the overdraft! :T :j

    Now for the mortgage. ;)

As for your spends in Primani, don't worry - they were just a slightly early Deby Free Day present to yourself. Totally acceptable. ;)

  • Thanks guys,

Well i'm quite annoyed this evening. The ex OH was supposed to move out of the house this weekend and the flat he was moving into has fallen through.

So in short this means he now has to find somewhere else before he can move out, which in turn means I am still at the parents. Now don't get me wrong there are some advantages to this situation. One of the key ones being that I am currently living for practically nothing so will hopefully mean an extra bit of money in the saving account (though the extra money it costs me getting around doesn't mean it will all go into savings!) but how much will depend on when he finally finds somewhere.

Now don't get me wrong my parents are amazing and living for practically nothing is great. But I am missing my own space, my house and my cats:(

Oh well, hopefully no more than a month to go before I get back.

So all in all a good & bad day, mixed emotions all round.

It must be really tough living with your parents again after having the freedom of your own place for so long, but just think of all the money you will save and the fact your OD has been paid off now is amazing.

Hope you are back in your own house by November!

Thanks Baby B, I really hope to be back soon!!

Well I've had a lovely weekend. Friday night as expected was very cheap, I spent £12, got little drunk on some very nice cocktails and enjoying a 2 course meal. So all in all a very good value for money night out!!

Saturday morning I managed to get myself up and to the gym like a good girl before finally getting round to returning some of my impulse clothes purchases from last weekend. Last night I went out with some friends, which was fun and not to expensive all things considered. :D

So all in all a fun weekend without breaking the bank and add to that today was a NSD, so thats 3/8 done already:j:j

Plan is to have another 3 NSDs this week. Basically work is manic at the moment and I have spent most of today working and the chances are i'm likely to be in most of this week working in the evenings which definitely limits my ability to spend money!!

Hope everyone is well, I actually feel like I might come in on budget this month. Considering the number of things I have had going on I will be quite pleased if i do!!

Oh, and just wanted to say loving the fact that x-factor and strictly are back on. But did think it seemed a little unfair on the groups on todays show. Why bother auditioning as a group,mSimon Cowell just puts together groups he wants and then put them through to the live shows?!

It all just seemed a little unfair to me as did cher lloyd getting through when she looks to frail and didn't even finish the audition.
