I too would have gone and got a new laptop straight away. Nothing worse than being cut off from the online world when we use it like we do. Look on it as it will pay for itself over time through surveys and the likes.
And just staying up-to-date on here: I tend to find it easier to go 'off track' if I'm not on here. Please call me 'Pickle'

Thanks for stopping by cha an dmaking me feel a bit better about my purchase:rotfl::rotfl:
I do find keeping up with my diary does help keep me on the straight and narrow so the laptop is saving me mony that way!!!!
I have had a very busy week, been out and about loads. But not spent very much money. Last night I went out for a night clubbing and only spent £25, including the taxi home. I would normally spend about £50 so that is good for me. I also went out for a drink thurs and got treated by a friend so a free night out then.
I'm having a nice quiet night in tonight (still feeling a little rough from last night:eek:), and tucking into some ben and jerrys ice cream. That means tomorrow morning I will be in the gym burning off all those extra calories and keeping myself out of trouble.
Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends, why do they always go so quickly?Mortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640 -
Well another busy week nearly over. Been fairly good this week on the money front so not much to report. I am away the next couple of weeks with work so will hopefully be a couple of cheap weeks to get me through to the end of the month, and well to be honest that would really help me out as seem pretty skint this month.
On the (kind of) plus side, ex OH still hasn't found a place to rent and for every week he is staying there he owes me £200, so its looking like he will have given me about £800 by the time he moves out. Some of that will go towards some furniture bits I will need for the house (like a new TV) as he will be taking some stuff with him.
So thats my news, really. But feel I must finish with OMG how good was Eastenders tonight, any tall dark handsom men that want to rescue me from a burning building please fell free to make yourself known now:pMortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640 -

I love Friday nights too!!!!! Hope the weeks away working go well. And the added bonus that you will be getting paid by OH and don't have to put up with the difficulties of house sharing with an ex.
Have a great weekend,

Still thrifty though, after all these years:D0 -
Rather like Secret Squirrel, I have also spent a lot of time reading on the board and not posting..I decided the time had finally come to contribute more meaningfully..I do wish you well with the "new" life - today is the first day of the rest of your life and you have a positive approach to it, which is great. I have thought about starting a diary, which I may yet do, until then I'll support others in their quest to be MF and DF!!!! Break ups in relationships need some time for you to recover, so allow yourself that and keep focussed on your goals. I saw some really sarcastic comments on one of the other subforums today - loans I think - and was shocked but this subforum has always seemed so supportive with lots of caring individuals posting helpful and supportive comments. Hope your working away is productive and helps save some money!0

Thanks guys your all a great support, Never enough I would really recommend a diary. I find having to confess to my impulse purchases really makes me think twice about buying them:D
I have had a lovely weekend, night out Friday. Drinking at my friends flat first then a cheapish night out. Have to admit to having fallen off the healthy eating wagon on Saturday (a stinking hangover and a hair dye disaster:eek:, long story for another time) led to comfort eating.
Saturday night was spent in watching reality TV, strictly, x factor and then a very early night (I know 26 years old and in bed by 9.30 on a Saturday night:p). Sunday morning went to the gym like a good girl in the vain hope of attempting to burn off the calories eaten on Saturday (probably to no avail, but hey you have to try) before a walk in the sunshine and a great big Sunday lunch with the parents.
Stuck to the budget for the weekend so was pleased with that, off away for the next few days. On the plus side no spending money on food this week (or next as away then to) so should make it easier to stick to the food budget. The breakaway may also do me some good to get over things a bit. I seem to be really struggling at the moment and really unsure if we are making the right decision which is getting me down a bit to be honest.:(
Also has anyone else noticed an improvement in the valued opinions surveys, I seem to be getting quite a few through and actually qualified for lots to. I am hoping to get my first pay out soon, which should be followed quickly by another if I keep having this luck.
Hope everyone enjoys there week, even if it looks the weather is going to be rubbish all week.

Yay, just had email notification from quidco that £40 has just been paid:j
The added bonus is that just checked quidco & another £20 has been received so that should also get paid in the next pay run.
It all helps!!:DMortgage @ 01.06.10 £165,999Mortgage @ 31.10.13 £14,6640
