Try googling 'online reputation management' the only thing you can do is to try to bump your name down the search results. You can do this by creating facebook pages, twitter accounts, blogs, etc. You don't have to put any personal information, infact you could create an alter ego with the same name that you plaster all over the place. If there are enough mentions of your name on other high ranking sites then the details of your BR will be pushed further down the results, and most people don't bother going past the first page or two of google search results.

Is it likely that people will be googling your name though?

I was frightenened to tell familly at first a pride thing I suppose did not want to think I had let them down. Told mum and da about two weeks before my dad passed away suddenly and they were fine and glad I did. My friends were brilliant.

A few prats in the local took the micky but, if you can its good to talk to people. You find out who your true friends are.

I don't have any immediate Family but feel like I've let my Father down although he died 30 years ago. Can't imagine what he would have said today if he'd been alive.

I think you misunderstand what the London Gazette is , it isnt some local free paper . The notice is place by the petitioner ( legal requiremet to do so )

I used to come up on Google, and now my BR doesn't. I am still on the online gazette (forevermore). I just stopped coming up; there was no reason to it, I mean that it didn't fit in with my coming off the IS register or my AD date etc. I just stopped showing up.

And I have a unique name; only one of me in the UK and Europe and possibly the world (!) which is great being unique but not so great if you want to hide - so if I were to appear then I would.

So I wonder what the criteria are for the gazette and search engines??
