I'm in the gazette too, and google brings my name up. I don't like it, only on the basis that people who don't know I went BR could find out if they googled my name.
But reality check. Names and addresses aren't exactly private, most of them are in the phone book, electoral register, on every bit of post you get, someone could follow you home to get your address, loads of organisations have it on mailing lists that get sold around.
Given that we are BR, we can't get credit anyway so ID theft is a non-starter really, I don't think its anything to get upset about personally.
I'd rather have my name on google than be scared to answer the door/phone in case it is the bailiffs, debt collectors, people coming to cut off the gas etc!Dogs have owners...my cat has slaves...0 -
I just googled my name and luckily there is quite a prolific reporter in the US with the same name as me so all that came up were pictures of her! There are loads of images too and she is looks like a 70 year old man in drag! I'm more peeved the people could think that was me!0

Mine is the 4th one down, but my first name is unusual. It not even the gazette listing though? its the BR pdf that was put in the local paper by the OR.
previous address, occupation and current address.. nothing to do with identity theft to do with people who know me google me then finding out i was once BR..0 -
sorry but it goes with the territory, it is public information and it is not against the DPAHi, im Debtinfo, i am an ex insolvency examiner and over the years have personally dealt with thousands of bankruptcy cases.
Please note that any views i put forth are not those of my former employer The Insolvency Service and do not constitute professional advice, you should always seek professional advice before entering insolvency proceedings.0 -
In a rather unpleasant way, I don't seem to come up on the first 10 pages of searching the UK version of google. The reason is that a few years back someone with the same name as me (not a particularly common one) was murdered, so that tends to dominate the search listsings.
Mind you, when I looked on the IS website for my listing, my address was not shown, and my job title was shown as 'Personal Services' which sounds rather more dodgy than my actual job title (which, I should add, is nothing of the sort)VSP Challenge 2014 #??? - £9.970 -
I checked and don't come up on the first 6 or so pages, there seems to be some nurses and dr's in the US with the same name who have lots of papers published.
I even tried putting in our surname, 1st part of the road and the town and still nothing, but we are in the gazette.0 -

This is very true - woe betide the idiot criminal that tries identity theft by taking details of bankrupt people from the LG"I got food in my belly
And a license for my telly
And nothin's gonna bring me down"
