Check to see what people want in the "want it now" section.

Research stuff, use wholsalers websites if required.

Deliver unbeatable customer service at all times - it helps with repeat custom.

can i just check! how can you check what people 'want now' ive been on my ebay and it says there are no reminders!

Right guys just a quick update.

I went and bought five things yesterday from a local discount warehouse and have put them on with the rest of my household stuff.
Have a feeling that the first couple of months are going to be spent finding some good products to keep me going all the way through the project and then try and find the higher profit margin ones.
At the moment all of the bits i have bought will only be making aprofit of £1-£3 per item (after costs) but i figured that if these sell well it starts making some capital for me to spend on the more higher earning products.

    Will keep you updated...

    Hi all

Somebody queried how PlanetSMS makes his profit when he only sells his ebooks so cheaply, some as cheap as 1p each.

    Here 'tis...

Each of his ebooks is written about a certain subject. He makes references to doing certain things like setting up a web site as part of his 'how to do...' guide. He provides a link(s) to web sites. This is the trick. He will have set up an affiliate account whereby he gets commission on any purchases.

He then provides resell rights to his buyers who will then sell it on, and so on.

So even a 1p ebook can be sold on, and on, and on to thousands of people around the world and when people click on any of his links within his ebook and makes a purchase he gets commission.

Forget about selling old clothes at car boots for pennies....!

    Brilliant!

I think it's even more clever than that. From what I can understand the aim of very cheap books is to direct to website and then offer free books in return for an opt in sign up so you can send other offers. THis builds a database which is supposed to be the source of all internet riches as you can then send special offers with short life but up to say 50% off usual advertised price so people buy in droves. This guy set up something called the $10,000 auction which rasied him that amount in a weekend. Now THAT'S what I call clever!!! I will try othr things as well to raise cash whilst I try to develop that but I think for me it is definitely the way to go.

Well guys i was getting a bit worried, none of my items were selling and i had only £10 from my first two sales to reinvest, but my main item has just started getting bids on it so that should hopefully give me about thirty to forty pounds of new capital to play with.
This is quite handy as i have just found a product that costs £30 but is selling on ebay for £50, so i can try and undercut them and hopefully still make aprofit of £12-£15 pounds each(i have found six.) So fingers crossed that my main item does well and also the five new items i put on thanks to my £10 worth of original sales being reinvested.

Its early days yet but a word of caution.

You are hoping to make £15k profit a year, but you are working on a profit margin of at most 20% (probably a lot less when you take into account Ebay and Paypal fees. To make £15k profit you need to turnover £75k, however this is above the VAT threshold, so you would pay 17.5% to HMCE, leaving yourself with very little to play with
