One thing that puts me off bidding is when there is too much jargon about what the seller is and isnt prepared to do.For instance if they only post on a cetain day or if they will only accept returns within 7 days of end of auction.
Too many dictator-like rules make me think
What if I have a problem with the item?
This person is already dictating terms and they havent sold it yet.0 -

Yeah. that puts me off too. I always think it makes them sound very arrogant. Although I also understand the feeling of having been scammed by a buyer so feeling you have to put safety measures in place to protect yourself.Stop looking for answers....

Really interesting thread, my two pennorth.
Buy a set of digital postal scales (reasonable on E-bay), I previously used kitchen scales, but learnt to my cost, they weren't accurate enough.
Download postal prices from Royal Mail's website, and include them in your spreadsheet, it makes looking up P&P prices much easier.
Good luck in your quest0 -
hi guys i have just got back of my hols, so i am a bit behind at the moment.
my main item that was going to provide me with some good capital had sold but now the buyer is not responding to any emails about payment and it has been at least 3 days now and still no reply so i think that i am going to have to relist it and wait even longer for the money.
i know it will only be about £30-£50 but i have already got some products lined up that i want to buy so it is most annoying.
On a good point i now have two lines that i have sold 3 products each on quite quick so i am going to invest what little cash i have now into those two lines and try and build up some cash that way.
I have also found some magic the gathering trading cards that are about 9 years old up in the attic from when i used to play with them and after having checked ebay there are quite a few which i can sell and hopefully raise some more capital that way.
It certainley isn't as easy as a task as i first thought as i haven't even broke the £100 mark yet but as soon as my cards and plasma tv bracket sell(fingers crossed) i have the oppertunity to buy a few more products that will have a smaller profit margin but a higher pound value for profit.
well see you guys soon, and good luck to the rest......Form is temporary class is permenent.0 -
slade, with your non paying bidder give it time, if you accept cheques it is likely that one will just turn up in the post after a week or so, a lot of buyers never contact a seller to say they are sending a cheque.
You can't start the NPB until day 7 anyway, so maybe on day 5 or 6 send a polite reminder and then start the NPB on day 7-10. A week later you can close the dispute and get your final value fees back and relist your item. If you relist too quickly you end up with all sorts of problems.
