    Hi Lynz,
i had an abnormal smear/pre-cancerous cells 12 yrs ago ( 1 month before I was 30 and the day before I went on holday!) it was CIN stage 3 , I had an operation and then smears every 12 months, then it dropped to every 3 yrs,

if you don't mind the settee and an untidy house then your welcome to come up north! lots of countryside and its free

Hi Lynz, Have been trying to check through all the posts but not sure if you've covered this, but anyway...have you got a staff support person in your personnel dept you could speak to?they should be able to help you fight your corner as well as your union reps etc and should be able to visit you at your home if you are on sick leave..also might be worth asking is there any funding available eg benevolent funds (i know the Civil Service do this type of thing for staff in unexpected difficulties), or any type of employee financial support?? I know you don't want to rely on anyone & hope you won't take this as being patronising or anything, just trying to think what I might do in your place! I really hope things start going well for you very soon, just remember that for every bad day there's a good one owed to you!!

Hi Lynz, just wondering how you were feeling today? Hope it's a bit cooler where you are - we're chilly at 70degF ("normal" July temperatures!) because the air-con is on full blast in the office, so it's cardi's & coats all round!

Did you hear from the Union & Personnel yet?

Hi lynz, o sorry to hear about your problems. Just try to take one thing at a time. I hade the same results on my smear about 3 years ago I was very scared but after doing further tests two weeks later it was reveiled that it wasn't that bad and all I had to do is to do it every 6mnth for a year and it was back to normal 3 years. So untill you have final results try not to think about it to much. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. let me know about final results.

honestly? Can my life get any worse?

1)OH left his job on friday ( temping) due to being quite badly bullied and he was going to lamp someone so walked before he did - a good thing yes, but no work really coming through this week despite best efforts

    2) Im on half pay and have a grand total of 100 in my bank until the 20th

    3) We yesterday found out that his dad has a very serious disease :(

    4) I found out today that Ive had an abnormal smear and that its pre-cancerous - have to have this investigated and cant get hold of my GP ( called helplines etc, theyve made me more worried)
    h

OH walked out on a job because he can't control his violent tendancies towards his collegues? there are regulations in place if he was genuinely being bullied, and so many people that would love any job it his choice to walk out, a luxury many would love. likewise £100 in your bank. If it was really that much of a problem maybe OH shouldn't have walked out and your issue is choice of OH.

abnormal smear is pretty standard for most women at some point, lots of harmless things can cause it but as your on-line already you can search for that info and probably already know it

OH dad being ill should make you supportive and strong for him not feel sorry for yourself

Can your life get worse - yes, much worse, you might actually have a problem that is not of your own doing, out of your control and serious.
Do not demeen those who have genuine problems by asking if your life could get any worse.

ps if your really thinking about running away, be a bit clever about it, a one way flight rather than a holdiay?
Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it.
Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.
