you vanquis card holders talking about i want bigger credit limits on the card, you are mad stick to your limit which they first give you and if they give you a higher limit ask for that to be lowered, the vanquis credit card is not like any other decent credit card, its not a proper credit card it is a credit building card,to basically give you credit history on your credit file so when applying for further credit they can see you are responsible....just spend a tiny bit on this card each month for a year get your greens on your report then rip the card up call them up and say thanks but see you later i"m off to a proper card...

You don't really have much idea of how entries on a CRF work do you.
A higher credit limit is repairs your file as much as the little green ticks. There's a section at the top of your report which shows the amount of available credit and the % being used.
If you have a Vaquis card with the initial £250 limit and spend £100 per month, paying it off in full, your CRF will report you are using 40% of your available credit. If you have a limit of £1250 your CRF will report you are using 8% of your available credit, which seems the more responsible to you?Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Yeah i see your point what your saying, but its still a credit building card not a proper credit card..hence the apr's around 55%,totally agree with you on available credit limits what i'm saying is just dont spend to much on the bloody thing..people are got to remember this is a vanquis card not a barclaycard..0

Does it give you credit.....?
Is it a card....?
Then guess what....Capital one £200 - bal nil. Aqua £350 - bal nil
Vanquis limit [STRIKE]£250[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£750[/STRIKE] £1250 - bal £450. Nat West overdraft limit - £300, unused. JD Willaims limit [STRIKE]£400 [/STRIKE] [STRIKE] £600 [/STRIKE] £900 - bal £90.
Very limit £400 - balance £329 (buy now pay 2011!)0 -

I couldn't agree more.
I'm on a mission at the moment to increase my available credit. Not because I want to borrow more, but I want to decrease the ratio.0 -

So you think now that you have your Flybe CC @24.9% you can look down on those with a Vanquis CC.
Everyone has to start somewhere.0 -

Quite right, too.
Vanquis is a card for a market that many of us have or are part of, and is a helpful product to have.
I've always looked down my nose at Vanquis themselves to a certain extent but not vanquis card holders... I closed mine last week when Sygma said yes but I'm certainly not going to hold continuing Vanquis account holders in disregard.
LOL in any case I'm probably the only vanquis customer out there that had no limit increases after nearly a year despite exemplary account conduct...Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48
