I'd always thought that this was a good idea but I always presumed that they would spoil and go off if left more than a day or two? Is it really ok to make them for the week?0 -

I think this thread is going to make a huge difference to me - just had 3 small jacket potatoes with cheese and beans, and I feel full - the first time lunch at work has done that in a long time.
Thanks again - going to enjoy going through the rest of the thread looking for more new ideas :beer:Search for Crunchy's Debt Deletion Diary... Updated daily (ish...)Challenges 2012:Sealed Pot 5: #15832 Stone / 2 Grand / 4 Months: Start 02/01/12 - 0st 6lb / £1028.47 - End 01/05/120 -
Hi
My OH works shifts and how we plan for it is to make extra portions with our other meals when he is not on shift. It may not be exactly the same meal but for example if we have chilli and rice I would do an extra portion (or 2) of Chilli and freeze them and OH will take to work and do a baked spud and add the chilli to it. He particularly enjoys pack up roast dinners but I will also sometimes use the leftovers from a roast and make into a stew / soup. He hasn't bought any meals for work since he started this job in April so we are very pleased. I will also freeze leftover bolognese / stew / shepherds pie.
Quick ones he will sometimes make at work are baked spuds with beans. Omelette or pasta with a tomato sauce and chopped ham / peperoni. I will also freeze HM Pizzas for him.0 -
packed lunch for me today is leftover crackers from the festive period, each spread with some spicy HM tomato chutney (chopped tomatoes, browned onion and a little chilli powder and black pepper) topped with some grated cheese and put in the microwave for 30 seconds.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Busy munching on quiche, carrots, sprouts and new potatoes at work today - the remains of leftover tea last night. Not good for the diet though!Ditch 100 in January Challenge 100/100

Hi all.
I am wondering if someone can give me some ideas for packed lunches that i can take into Uni during the week.
There is no access to microwave/kettle etc.
I dont mind sandwiches, but they get a bit boring after a while, so either something different would be nice, or some unusual sandwich fillers.
thanks.0 -
