Also being bigger, I do tend to buy them whenever I see them cheap - Marks sale is good, ASDA is cheap and some nice matching sets there - but I think a minimum of two white and two black or similiar (i.e. two pale, two dark) would about do it although sometimes in the summer that would mean quite efficient washing.
  • Blumming eck, £62 on 2 bra's.

Last ones i bought were in Primark, which have lasted for ages were £6 in a
twin pack, 34C. 1 white, 1 black, moulded, wash and wear brilliantly.

Primmark is good if they do them in your size. I've found I have to pay for a good bra been bigger
    :j £2 coins = £2.00 :j

I discovered Freya bras a few years ago and I usually have about 15 bras on the go, I don't buy anything that doesn't fit properly and I often buy end of range from Figleaves. I wear a "fancy" bra everyday it just makes you feel good knowing you have a nice bra on...

Yep - Primark rarely have them in my size either. On the odd occasion where they have had them available, and I've tried them, they have been awful! If I was to wear them all day, I would end up with cuts under my arms! It's almost as if they took a smaller size and just added a different size label to it.

    But that's just my experience.

agree with nearly rich, freya are great, as a 34gg:eek: I can never get cheap bras, freya can cost up to £25 as well. Just had a massive clear out and sold loads of bras that no longer fit. At the moment only have about four so need to stock up, ten is my ideal really.
  • i just got some nice new ones from bonprix, about £6 each and are really comfy!

I have 5 at the moment as my other ones no longer fit due to over indulgance in chocs!haha

Oh God I've got absolutely loads - built up over time though. Mind you when I split up with my husband about 5 years ago I went down a whole size and suddenly realised I didn't have a single bra that fitted - I spent a bomb. I also got together with OH a little while after and didn't want him to think I only owned one set of underwear so bought more bit by bit!

2 black and 2 white are good for a base collection. Always nice to have really fresh looking white bras too - no-one wants a flash of off white straps !!

But then you start needing them for different outfits - a multiway is useful, a nude strapless is brilliant in the summer (but then I am VERY anti bra-straps showing - it's horrible!) and better than those things with the see-through straps - yuck! A few different coloured sets are nice to have. We're on a major spending cut at the moment while we save for a deposit. We've only a couple of months left to go and the first thing I'll be buying is some new underwear! I feel for you though OP - £62 for 2 bras - yikes. I think it's money well spent if you're bigger though - totally changes posture and how clothes hang off you.

I have about 6 including a sports running bra. I cannot see buying more than this as I replace them every 6 - 9 months as the elastic goes... I am not very large 34B or C depending but having lost a bit of weight now I think I may be down to a 32!!! grrr... anyway - what I would suggest is have a few but not too many as they do need replacing...
Well lets see - I dip in and out of MSE all the time but I still come back - have done since 2007!!!

A good bra is an investment if you're a bigger lady - I've paid more than £50 for one if it's a good fit. I'm paying for comfort not lots of lace or frilly bits. I find those types of bras tend to give a poor silhouette especially in t-shirts or clingy clothes. Where as a seamless t-shirt bra works with just about everything.
