how many bra's?

I have about 16 bras, some 40E which I was wearing for years and still fit me lovely thank you, and some 46C which is, according to the lady in Evans, my correct size. I have probably in excess of about 50 pairs of knickers, mainly black cotton. The only ones that match are an absolutely stunning red set that my lovely Mum bought me for Xmas from Evans and I adore, and a black version of that same set.
My bras are mainly from the JD Williams catalogue group with a few from Evans and BHS, and all colours of the rainbow from white to black to brown to purple, my absolute favourites being my Gok Wan Banger Booster (this was £38  but worth every penny, the only annoying thing being the random little bell thing on it that tinkles every time I move - weird!) the gorgeous red set and 2 white cotton bras I bought in Evans sale that give me the kind of perky boobs I have never had since about the age of 14 :rotfl:
The only thing that bugs me is that there is only one place on the High Street (Evans) that does bras in my size and they are SO expensive! Ever since my catalogues went onto my DMP I'm lost - I'm finding its impossible to replace the bras that are wearing out now as I cant afford it*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
I am soooo jealous of you larger chested ladies, I would almost give my left arm for a larger chest. I'm so small I can buy teenage cotton bras (I do prefer underwire though, I don't know why cause I certainly don't need the support), I currently have 4, 2 white and 2 black. I must wear matching cotton "shorts" pants too, I don't do not matching.
I have never been measured, I couldn't for the embarrassment factor, cause I really could get away without wearing a bra, think of Trinny and her chest size, thats me, but I feel too naked without one.
Have a look for Panache Atlantis bras, they have either a gel or a lightweight pad to give you an extra size and start from a AA. Also look for Gossard Secret - an old style but they gave you an extra lift too with a lightweight pad. There are lots of pretty bras for smaller sizes now and do not feel embarrassed.
There are going to be some new Atlantis bras for the next season (Around August time) that give you 2 cup sizes - and they go from AA to a D cup so those of you ladies not happy with you D cup can have an extra boost and wear a bra that gives you an E cup!!0 -

Remember that gravity will not be nearly as cruel to you as the years go by as it is to those of us who are hauling pounds and pounds of boobies around - they won't be down to your waist, and they won't wreck your back!
At 40yo and not admitting to being bigger than a G cup I can see where they're headed....:eek:Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

No, no, no. PLEASE go somewhere else and get re-measured ASAP, if you are wearing a 40 band and it is comfortable there is absolutely NO way you are are a 46 band size - bras would not even 'give' this far if it was an old bra so you are in the wrong size.
Please PM me if you want help and we can talk more. If anyone wants to check their size then I'll try and offer advice by talking to you but if you are wearing one band size and you get 'measured' on the high street and you go up by 2 sizes please walk out and go somewhere else.
If anyone is in North Herts area I am a Freya/Fantasie/Elomi/Fauve trained fitter, if anyone wants a home fitting please email me and we can sort something out.0 -

If you have a branded bra you like then shop on ebay for great bargains. I'm a 38H and like to wear Freya or Fantasie and have had loads of new bras from ebay over the years. Sometimes they are 'imperfects', but I can never find the flaw, or they might be colours that are being discontinued.
I can empathise with the stories in this thread of bad fittings at high street stores but sometime women are their own worse enemies. Last time I was trying a bra in Debenhams, I felt really sorry for the fitter as some daft woman was realling off a list of things wrong with the bra she was trying on and after every comment the fitter said 'thats because it fits you and your old bra didn't'0 -

A fitter does not need to see someone topless at all and it can be done discreetly if the customer is not very confident, I just do not think that ladies realise this.
Cheers. I didnt realise this. It seemed strange to me as the bra I was wearing was too small and therefore squashing my bazoobies into a smaller space than they required so couldnt figure for the life of me how they could accurately measure when they were so squashed up.:smileyhea0 -
blue_monkey, is there an accurate way I can measure myself at home? I really don't feel comfortable with being measured in a shop. I would like to buy some new bras online. If as you say every shop measures differently then is there a certain way to measure for La Senza, Figleaves etc for example? I've also found that different styles of bra in the same size fit differently, is that normal? Bras are so confusing lol.£2 Savers Club 2011 (putting towards a deposit

It is easy when you know how.I'vebeen on a fitting course and one of the 'tests' they do is to put a lady in an ill fitting bra as you use the bra as a guide to know what will fit. Band size too big but cup OK, you take off the band and put onto the cup.
I am probably a bit neurotic about bras tbh and I do not really tell people what I do face to face but once they do they'll always ask an opinion on the bra they are wearing and I have to be honest and they usually get a bit uppity about it. But I cannot let anyone wear the wrong size.
Last week my friend was adamant her daughter was a 34D or DD - I'd only ever seen her with them hidden as she is not an in your face kind of girl, and I said I'd give her £100 if she was and sent her off with a 30G. Mum laughed at me but then texted later and said she could not believe how well supported her daughter felt.
I tell everyone to think of bras as you do shoes - and you'd not put your feet into the wrong size shoe all day, every day.0 -

I wish you lived in Scotland. Ive never found anywhere that does it right. Im sure I wear the wrong cup and the wrong back size. My boobs sometimes ache and Im sure its because of the bras I wear. Shall go and see some of the places you suggested and hopefully that will sort me out!!:smileyhea0
