everyone can use public transport it might be hugely difficult to do so however.
Hmm, let's consider that for a moment in my case.
I cannot get to work using any public transport when I start at 0600.
I cannot get home using any public transport when I finish at 0200.
I cannot get home until 0800 using any public transport when I finish at 0600.
Public transport is useless for me, and countless millions of others I have no doubt.Starting Debt: ~£20,000 01/01/2009. DFD: 20/11/2009 :j

Unfortunately the only way change will happen is if half the country stopped filling their cars with diesel / petrol in protest for a prolonged period to hit the government and fuel companies in the pocket. If the funds stop rolling in only then do these big organisations usually listen.
Now realistically this is never going to happen as many people depend so much on their cars and the government knows this hence why they take advantage of the situation.
Even if there was a tax cut on the fuel it would only be taken of us in some other way. Labour has got us in a serious amount of debt and they need this tax from fuel to pay it back, things will only get worse I imagine.
Im afraid its put up and shut up really. Not much can be done about the situation.0 -
Unless we behave like Americans, hate the thought or not, nothing will ever change.
Us British just moan and groan and do nothing, ever, we accept what is thrown at us and complain - but never ever loudly or sufficiently enough for anyone to take notice.
Its our own fault.Genie

I sympathise, as I'm in a similar situation, but there are a great many people out there who would merely pass it off as our own faults, and we should merely live at our work if we really felt strongly about it. Anything less, and we're merely moaning for the sake of it...LeeSouthEast wrote: »Hmm, let's consider that for a moment in my case.

It's the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without being seduced by it.

Government petition website:
1. Allow petition
2. Watch as numbers build
3. Deadline passes
4. Pay no attention, but re-iterate government policy to "educate" those petitioners.
Waste of time. Stupid government ploy to send out propoganda to the masses.0 -
What should we do instead then?Pew_Pew_Pew_Lasers! wrote: »Government petition website:

Well you start one, and we will see what happens.;)
Anybody that honestly thinks using an online petition is going to change anything is seriously deluded.0 -
I merely do the predictions. I leave the direct action to others.
