Thanks Amys,
We arrive 3.40 pm but dont expect to pick up car until at least an hour later. Our return flight is not until 8.40 pm so we dont really want to have to return the car by 4 pm. Unfortunately I dont have my dollar paperwork from last time. If the return time is calculated from pick up then it wont be a problem. This has never arisen before as our flights are normally earlier in the day.
Thanks0 -
If you have it booked that way then the holiday company will usually have arranged it so you drop the car off a couple of hours before the flight back, but it is best to check when you get there.0

Friends of ours went last year. One hated it, 4 loved it. Our kids are BIG dolphin fans so weve booked for next year, but for a little extra we have got our ticketsa for seaworld, busch gardens and aquatica for the full 2 weeks0 -

3.40 arrival means after immigartion and getting to the depot you will be talking about 4.40 to 5pm for the car pickup. Reminber though coming back a 8.40pm flight means you will be checking in at 5.40pm anyway. This means you'll be getting car back at 5.20ish at latest to sort out the paperwork and unloading etc
Not that much of a problem

Its easily sorted, but its likely to cost you a few £££££'s.
Hire cars are hired in 24 hour periods in America, so if you hire at 16.00 and don't return it until 17.30 the next day, you will be liable to pay for 2 days rental ---- mabye have a look at rejigging your collection/drop off schedule times.
IIRC, the hire period starts from the point that you collect the car, not the time that you profect that you are going to pick up the car.0 -
Just booked DC this morning, we were not going to do it as it was not available when we are travelling - August 2007
However we got the free Busch parks promo DVD delivered in the post this morning, had a quick look at it and saw the DC promo advert, kids said oooh can we do that?
I said "yeah that'll have to wait until next year as it's fully booked this year"
Then went and logged on and guess what Saturday 4th August was available RESULT.
Four of us on the swim package, one U11, with the $30 - 14 day both parks option - credit card hit for $1316 - zipideedoodah zipeedeeday
PS kids - don't know yet either, we arrive on Thursday 2nd and Swim on Saturday. If it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?0 -

You've already had some feedback but I thought I would add my two pennorth
Whenever we have done a holiday package we've never had a problem with an hour or so overlap with the car hire. They are very geared up to Brits and the flight times.
Regarding DC, I thought it was an enormous amount of money but it was a very enjoyable day, however it's hard to know if you will think it's worth it or not until you've done it - most people rave about it0 -

I went last year, 2 adults & 2 children aged 16 & 13. It is very much like a posh inclusive resort. The swim with the dolphin is in groups of 8 with 2 staff and lasts about 45 to 60 mins. We did ours first thing in the morning which I think is the best time because after that you can just relax and enjoy the all you can eat & drink for the rest of the day, plus you can sit & watch everyone else having there swim !!
There are other lagoons / running rivers that you can swim around and plenty of other fish to see & touch, ther eare various man made beaches to relax on and eating bars dotted around. The numbers are limited so there is not that crowded feeling like there sometimes is at the other theme parks.
Would we do it again, yes, It is pricey, but worth the money and a nice experience.
Get there earlier than they suggest, there open and the breakfast is being served !
Enjoy0
