Hi,
Some advice needed. We have decided to go to Orlando for our holiday in 2008.
There will be 2 adults, a three year old and a one year old. Neither of us can drive (is it manageable without a car?) so we were thinking about International Drive. We are flexible with when we can go, and are thinking about June. We want to go for two weeks.
When is best to book, now or later? Any recommendations for cheapest Hotel + Flight packages?
All help appreciated!

Hello,
we are off to Orlando On July 7th for 3 weeks and were wondering whether or not we should pay to get the pool heated in the villa we have rented. Do we need it or will it be warm enough? I have 2 kids 9 and 3 and i want them to get the full benefit from it. Any advice would be appreciated, thanks0 -

I have not been to a villa but a typical pool temp is 28C aka 82F.
The overnight low is 24 now and high 36 so average is roughly 28, if you put the pool cover on every night it will keep some of the heat.
We are going to townhouse in Regal Palms resort as we didn't like the idea of a villa home from home for two weeks.
Word of warning, watch the children every minute around the pool, lock it when you are not there to supervise. My hairdresser described her three year old getting up at 6am and trying to get in the pool every morning!
Once they slip under you've only got a minute or so.
On a lighter note though, I would ask the renter if they think it needs heating, depends on if your doing lengths or just floating I suppose!
You could try out the pool without heating in 1st week, then if it's too cool, get them to heat it for two weeks. If it takes a man a week to walk to walk a fortnight how long does it take a fly with tackity boots on to walk through a barrel of treacle?0 -

Hi
Has anyone 'done' Disney in Florida in the first two weeks of August?
I've just discovered we can have a holiday but can only have these two weeks, have wanted to take my two teenager boys back (last went when they where still at primary school) but thought August might be -
too busy (I presume it is the summer holidays in America too and, therefore, lots of queues) or
too hot or the
hurricane season
Will it be too late to book flights and accommodation?
Does anyone have any experience to share please?
Many thanks

Hi,
We have been this time of year twice, it will be hot, very hot and very humid also, the queues will start to die down towards the end of August as the kids go back to school but it will still be busy and you can expect wait times on the big rides to be pushing 60 mins, but its perfectly do-able if you set a plan. There might still be the tail end of Brazilian tour groups but they dont tend to get in the way as much as the did 5-6 years ago, just dont get stuck in a queue with them and you will be ok. You will find that it will rain hard almost every afternoon for a 20-30 mins or so but will dry up almost immediatley, i think hurricane season is in its peak in September, but i wouldnt worry al all about that, you will be safe and looked after wherever you are.
Not sure about last minute flights but www.travelcitydirect.com might be a good place to look for cheap quote and Virgin may have some deals coming up soon, we got our flights last year for £280 booked about 6 weeks before we went.
Hope this helps0 -
marin: do travelcitydirect not charge for car hire and flights together. As I've read elsewhere, they will sell a flight seperately, but at a premium.
Dare I say the alternative is Globespan for flight only - but there are many other carriers, it just depends on where you want to fly from.
It is absolutely the best way to book flights/car hire seperately.
uscarhire.co.uk are my choice.0 -

Yes, Travelcity do charge together for a flydrive, its different if you want a package holiday tho, i agree its if defo better to book them seperate, we always use dollar rentacar as we have premuim membership, but we used travelcity once purely because there flights were so cheap even with the car included.0
