Re shopping in Orlando , there's also the Mall At Millenia which is worth a visit if only because it has a Cheesecake Factory
:j
Same old same old since 20080 -
Thanks all, you have been a massive help (Is there anything you guys don't know?).
Can i trouble you all one more question.
I am staying at the I-drive, i will be doing one park per day and a day or two shopping at the malls.
Do you think it is worth me getting a Hire car or rely on busses/taxi's getting around?0 -
I personally thought the Mall at Millenia was a bit too snooty,, With shops like Louis Vuiton with secutiry guards on the door. However - the food court is deffinately worth a look!!
Pudders0 -
So what are your thoughts on my transport Query above, car or no car?0

Universal Studios express pass is a bit of a rip off as you get to front of line just once. I'm not sure if this has been mentioned on here before, but last year when I went I worked out that it was as cheap to stay at one of the hotels onsite for 1 night (4 of us in a room).
You can arrive as early as you like for check in (leave your bags there) and get a front of line pass that gives you unlimited front of line for that day and the next. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0 -

I think it's personal choice, if you are staying on I-drive the I-trolley goes up and down all day and into the evening. I used it but wasn't keen at got very busy and with a 3 year old with me I didn't enjoy it. From your hotel you should be able to book buses to all the parks etc. So if you don't fancy driving you can get around without a car but you are just tied to the times the buses travel. With car-hire the obvious benefits are that you are free to travel when you like, however your car then sits in the carpark all day whist at the parks and it costs you at least $10 in the process.
Not much help really, sorry !0 -
Lackingwedge,
Have a look at my previous post on page two of this forum it has some more infor about travelling to the parks.0 -

Many people do the holiday just with buses etc. We've done it and friends on ours had a car for two weeks and only used it for 5 days. The costs of a bus/taxi/shuttle to the parks IF YOU HAVE TO PAY is probably less than the cost of parking at the parks.
We've also had a car and it is convenient if you want to nip off somewhere or want to park hop. Next tiem we go we're staying on I Drive and only doing sea World/Busch/Gardens/Universal and we will NOT be getting a car for the 2 weeks (the £300 insurance can go on spedning money!)0 -

It may be a stupid question, but are you aware that you can hire a fully insured vehicle in Orlando for £188 for two weeks from a highly reputable company (9r £94 for a week) --- nowhere even remotely close to your £300 for your insurance only.0
